Description

I'm a poet, a wanderer, and a researcher at a university. I have lived in six countries and travelled to many more. Since my days as a couchsurfer and a youth volunteer in my early twenties, one thing I have enjoyed the most about my travels has been connecting with people. I have dived in a freezing fjord with Norwegians and had tea at a temple teahouse with Chinese. The best mousaka I ever tasted was made by my Greek friend. In other words, I have been incredibly lucky :) I believe in the impact of education; that's why I work on several pro-bono projects to improve access to learning. Things I enjoy are reading and writing books, trying on ridiculous sunglasses with my daughter, snuggling with my two cats, cooking without a recipe for my friends, and taking long long walks in the shade of trees.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

1) I have been teaching for many years - in a university setting, a secondary school setting, and in various lectures and workshops. I guess that makes me good at explaining a variety of things most people might not necessarily need to know :)
2) I do teach languages as well, so I could do a reasonable job of helping you brush up on your English or Ukrainian.
3) I'm a professional translator, so I can help you with that (as long as the work needs to be done within my working languages).
4) I know a lot about university admissions to undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs all over the world. Yep, I'm even certified.
5) I'm a decent cook and I don't shy away from manual work.
6) I'm good with animals and enjoy taking care of them. Working outdoors is something I find especially rewarding -- particularly when it comes to farming and gardening.
7) I can draw quite well and enjoy doing that, although I'm not a trained artist.
8) Oh, and I could write you a poem or translate one. Any takers?

I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs, yet I'm not the preaching type and I'm happy for other people to make their own choices. Chocolate and tea are my main vices.
