Hi there! My name is Valérie and I’m a 24-year-old from the Czech Republic.

Two years ago I completed my Bachelor's degree in Religions, Philosophy, and Ethics at Bath Spa University in England, and I'm now in my final year of the same field back in my beloved Prague (by the time I plan to travel, I should have fully finished my studies.)

Right now, I work for a visa agency as a back-office assistant, but I also have my own clients from all over the world whom I help with their stay here in Prague. I love being part of their journey and making their life here smoother.

I've also worked as a barista and waitress for around four years, eventually becoming a shift manager, and volunteered in hospitals and at camps for children with disabilities which awakened aspects of love in me I never knew existed.

I’ve been with my partner for more than five years now, and as much as I cherish stability, I feel a strong desire to experience a bit more of the world before settling into a full-time job and, eventually, starting a family. I don't yet know exactly what career path I want to follow — but I know that I want to grow, to keep learning, and mainly to help others along the way.

Among the things that bring me joy are running, traveling, reading, yoga, hiking, painting and cooking. I enjoy thinking outside the box and am deeply interested in philosophy and psychology—especially Jungian thought—and in holistic approaches to understanding life and human beings. I’ve always been drawn to discovering who I truly am — from exploring different spiritual paths to learning through experience and connection. Last, but not least, I love spending quality time with the people I love.

My Workaway journey began at 18 in a holistic yoga community in rural place in Denmark, where I helped with vegan cooking and basic maintenance. Later, I joined a sustainable farm project in Gran Canaria, where I lived off-grid with an international team of volunteers. We worked on restoring the finca (farm) while living simply and respectfully toward nature.
