I want to meet up with workawayers while I am here in Arusha. We can explore Arusha together.
Description
Hello,
Wanderlust struck minimalist, digital creative exploring the world, meeting people, learning languages, embracing different cultures and different world perspectives!
I am currently on a multi-year journey to explore all the 55 nations of the African continent. During my trip, I will use my various skills amassed over 9 years of working and exploring the world. Along the way, I look forward to learning from the people I meet across the continent.
Over the last few years, I have worked as a magazine editor, English teacher, certified trainer and digital marketer. Along the way, I have learned the basics of all the languages I have interacted with. Throughout the 25 or so countries I have lived and visited I have strengthened my love for exploring and learning.
I look forward to meeting more amazing people on this adventure to explore the African Continent.Centres d’intérêt

Media Personality
I am the winner of Season 1 of House of Fame Botswana, a reality show where I and 11 other participants were housemates for 8 weeks. We had to compete on different tasks focused on testing our ability to handle the pressures of being on screen, entertaining an audience and a lot more. I came out as the best after a very tough 8 weeks of going up against a group of talented and capable creatives ranging from singers, actors, writers and MCs. The skills I gained from the experience mean I will never shy away from being centre stage and shining. PS I am not camera shy at all, I think spending 24 hours on camera for 8 weeks is a tenement to that.
Writing
I have always had a passion for expressing myself and I have found an incredible outlet in writing. Writing has taken me to Hangzhou china where I was an editor for a tourism magazine promoting the Zhejiang province and Hangzhou to international travellers. I also love to write poetry, I do however keep those candid emotional pieces to myself.
Public Speaking
Since I can remember I have always found myself standing in front of an audience. The very first time I had news cameras turned to me was a teacher's day tribute I had co-written with a fellow student when I was 12 years old. Since then I have gone on to be a member of the debate teams at pretty much every school I've been to.
This love for public speaking has also found me featured in various television, radio and newspaper interviews for a myriad of projects I have worked on from the 1st online store in Botswana to the Cancer awareness event I organised for the Cancer Association of Botswana.
Filmmaking & Content Development
In 2017 I was shortlisted for the NEWF (Nature Environment and Wildlife Filmmakers) Film Contest held in Durban. As a finalist, I had to pitch a film centred around work-travel exchanges and the impact they can have to educate more people on sustainable agricultural practices. This has moved me to tell my story as I travel across the continent and tell African Stories from an African perspective, a much-needed refresher perspective away from the tired stereotypical stories we have witnessed over Africa's colonial and post-colonial eras.
Graphic Design
I am a self-taught graphic designer and illustrator, I was thrust into this work when a startup I was working on had to pivot from the original idea due to demands by our clients. So I got to work and 9 years later I can say I have gained enough experience to work on a lot of different tasks. I do have a portfolio on my website (www.tumomaokisa.life/start-here)
Web Development
Over the course of working with different clients on graphic design and marketing campaigns, I eventually got drawn to the web design and development space where I have also since gained experience, especially working with international clients from France, Ethiopia, and Monaco to Uganda.
Digital Marketing
Since I have committed to travel indefinitely I have found myself gaining more and more digital marketing skills which have come in handy for my clients. As a Digital Nomad, it is only right that I possess as many digital skills as possible since I manage most of my life through one digital platform or another.
Photography
After spending most part of my travel adventures shooting videos and photos on my phone I decided to upgrade to a DSLR to capture all the adventures and with time I have gained many skills in photography and photo editing. It has now become one of those indispensable skills I need on this adventure I am on.
English Language
As a double major in English and Psychology graduate from the University of Botswana, I have found myself having to use my English degree to teach English to a family in Monaco. In the process, I picked up enough French to survive the french riviera.
Training
During my stay in India, I got certified in the Heart-Mind Way training technique developed by the founders of the company I was working with in New Delhi. This aligned well with my goal to become a coach as I had always wanted to be able to impart the skills and learning techniques I have picked up throughout my life to others who may wish to expand their worldview and do better.Âge
