Hi!

My name is Matyas and I am from Hungary, Budapest.

I consider myself a slow traveller so being a volunteer and joing a project while getting to know new places, cultures, faces is really something I enjoy.
My new plan is to visit other Central and South American countries. So far I have been to Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
I have to say that I really enjoyed volunteering with Workaway in the past so here I go again. :)

As a volunteer previously I had the pleasure to gain some experience at farms doing gardening, painting, cooking... (coolest thing is that I learnt to drive a tractor :D).
I have helped out a lot at many hostels too mostly as a program organizer, receptionist, or just as a general all-around volunteer. For a while I even became a tour guide leading groups up to vulcanoes doing hikes and campings. I have countless nice memories of my volunteering experiences...

I am eager to meet new people and enjoy the time spent together. I am happy to help with any kind of work and would be glad to learn new skills too. I do not have any strict plans when I am travelling. I am a very easy-going and flexible person. :)

Apart from my native language which is Hungarian I can speak English pretty well. Also I can understand and speak in simple Spanish (trying to learn more each day).

Other fun facts: I worked in hospitality (manily at hotels) for about 3 years. Also I really love nature and animals.

I think of myself as a reliably, honest, adventurous and adaptive person with a positive attitude towards people and life in general.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

During my twenties I have worked quite a lot in hospitality, mostly in hotels, hostels at many positions. Also I have worked as a bartender a few times at coffee bars, summer festivals...

I have a lot of volunteering experience mainly as a Workawayer. In Italy and in Costa Rica I used to work in farms. I did gardening, cleaning, painting, cooking among other tasks. In Nicaragua and Panama I spent a lot of time at hostels as a volunteer organising activities, being a receptionist or just do whatever I could help with.

At university I used to be a volunteer and used to organize programmes for international students and help them to socialize and fit into the new environment.

I love animals. I used to be a volunteer at my local animal shelter back at my home town.

I am not an expert in the kitchen but I can help with the cooking anytime.

I am into sports and activities in general. I used to play waterpolo growing up and later I went boxing, played tennis, squash, football... So yeah I like to exercise and play.

I have a university degree at international economy.

I am a fast learner and I am eager to learn new skills. :)
