Hello! I'm Simon from Belgium.
I am currently in Australia on a working holiday visa and I am looking for some good experiences outside of the big cities.
i love nature and growing up in a big city like Brussels i would love to learn how to live in more rural areas. I'm interested in learning how to live self sufficiently, like growing your own food and raising animals.
I am passionate about wildlife and i love learning about plants. I am also a an artist (sculptor) by education and I make a lot of music on my computer, I'm also able to play bass.
I worked with a gardening company the last year so i have experience working outside, trimming edges, mowing the lawn and the lot, and I'm not afraid of getting dirty and doing physical work outside.
i also love cooking! I make really good soups and I'm able to make (amateur) sashimi :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I worked for a year with a gardening company doing garden maintenance. i did work like trimming edges, planting plants and trees, mowing the lawn, pruning plants and trees etc...
i have experience working with brush cutters, chainsaws, large lawn mowers, hedge trimmers and more.

i can cook a good meal. i can cook vegan, vegetarian or meat.

i have a masters degree in fine arts with a specialisation in sculpture, so I'm familiar with working with plaster, wood, concrete and clay.

Rachel and Ralph were very welcoming and really helpful. I had a wonderful room with a nice view on Auckland. The food was delicious and Rachel made me an amazing lemon meringue pie,

I had a great time at the sanctuary, Sabine and Maddy are lovely people. I enjoyed learning about taking care of amimals and doing the feedruns. The place is a massive gorgeous propperty with lots of nice views, sunsets and pretty stars every night.

Had nice room with a big bed. Their property was beautiful with lots of wildlife like pademelons, qoulls and black cokatoos. Cheri is an amazing cook and provided delicious lunch and dinners. Simon stayed with us for seven weeks. We are fortunate to have him as our first workaway volunteer. We have extensive length of bush tracks along our river that hasn’t been cut for two years. We had a great stay with Benjamin. He provided a tent for us, tought me about the local plants and animals and building a house of course. He took us to the gosford glyphs, which was amazing.

Michael was a great host! Even though he got diagnosed with covid right before our stay, he made sure we could settle in and kept it safe. I Had a lovely stay at Karl & Rayna's. They have a bautiful property. Lot's of cool birds flying around and kangaroo's skipping about.
