Description

We are Javier (Javi) and Estelle, a couple that loves travelling and learning more about new cultures and new languages! Together we speak almost 6 languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, English, Italian and a decent German). We love talking with people, spend time with our friends, family and our two cats 🐱. We are very easy-going, not complicated people, and are eager to always learn new things.

Fun fact: our common language is not English, it is Portuguese, neither Estelle nor Javier are native in Portuguese, but the bond between us was formed by talking in Portuguese. The reason why? Estelle spent 3 years in beautiful Rio, whereas Javi learnt with his Brazilian friends in Madrid. Our paths came together at work not in the warm areas of Brazil, but in the coldness of Berlin.

👦🏻 Javier
(Javi) hails from a small village in the Andes, Ecuador, but spent most of his life in Madrid, Spain. After completing school, he moved to the UK with the mission of mastering English. He holds a degree in Journalism, with a focus on politics and strategic studies. Shortly after, he relocated to Berlin, where he transitioned into the digital marketing field. Javier has a keen interest in philosophical politics and the root causes behind global events. A mix of dreamer and pragmatist, he embraces the paradoxical balance between vision and practicality.

👩🏻‍🦰 Estelle
Estelle comes from the picturesque region of Provence in southern France, home to the iconic lavender fields that inspired artists like Van Gogh and Signac. Her curiosity has taken her across the globe, including Brazil, the UK, Belgium, and now Germany. She holds a BA and MA in Hospitality Management and has amassed rich experience in the industry across France, Belgium, and Brazil. Today, she works as a Product Manager, having successfully transitioned into the tech world. Passionate about travel, cuisine, and vegetarian cooking, Estelle is also deeply committed to animal rights and environmental protection. Her curiosity and love for learning fuel every new adventure she embarks upon.

We met in Berlin, Germany what started as an office romance quickly became something truly special. Since then, we’ve known we wanted to make the most of every opportunity to travel, explore the world, and contribute in our own way to making it a better place. Now, we’re doing a year-long journey through Australia and New Zealand, excited to embrace new adventures, discover the other side of the world, and connect with locals while pursuing the passions that inspire us.

Javier:
- 6 years of experience in Digital Marketing, with a strong focus on analysis and performance
- Experience as a shop assistant, including stock management and inventory control
- Hospitality experience as a waiter
- Experience with moving, lifting, and assembling IKEA furniture
- Owner of two cats and one dog, with extensive experience caring for animals and understanding their needs
- Native speaker of Spanish and Portuguese; C1 level in English and Italian


Estelle:
- 5 years of experience in Product Management, with a strong background in project management, stakeholder alignment, and product research & development
- Experience in hospitality and customer service
- passion for drawing and painting
- Experience working with crops and trees
- Comfortable cooking family-style meals
- Native speaker of French, Portuguese, English, and Spanish
