Hi there! We are Julia and Alessandro, international couple of travellers. We are energetic and happy persons who love to discover the world and meet new people. For the moment I, Alessandro, am travelling alone around Europe and would love to get to know it through Workaway. I come from Chile, where I was a tour guide in Patagonia. After couple of years I started my worldwide journey and moved to Australia and Japan. There I was working in many jobs like construction, carpentry, farms and ecological projects. I have a lot of various experience and Im learning super fast. In my free time I love being outdoors, doing sports and learning about the climate and nature. I am super excited to explore Europe and its diverse culture and meet new open people through Workaway. Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I, Alessandro, am a carpenter, something that started as a fun hobby at home and then became a new way for me to earn a living. On the other hand, I have a degree in ecotourism, focused on outdoor activities that blend the experience of being in nature with education.

So, half of my brain runs on a drill and a measuring tape. I have participate in some eco projects doing greenhouses, sheds, chicken’s coop, recycled timber furniture. Plus other typical construction work like wood structures, roofing, and flooring.

However ecotourism is probably my biggest passion. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with all kinds of groups, from tourists and school kids to groups of friends looking for an outdoor adventure.

A big part of that has been hiking and spending time in nature. While having fun is always important, I also enjoy helping people understand a bit more about the environment around them. Through this, I’ve developed a real interest in things like botany, geography, and geology.

People and nature often go hand in hand with outdoor sports, and I’ve had the chance not only to practice but also to guide and teach activities such as climbing, hiking, and kayaking.

Working in hotels and lodges in different countries has also helped me pick up a range of other skills. I’ve been involved in guest transport, hosting, and helping out in the kitchen as well, which is great because I really love cooking.

To wrap this up, I can also say that some of my other hobbies are playing guitar and singing, cooking new recipes, playing team sports like volleyball, football, and basketball, as well as joining group games. I also enjoy reading the occasional Buddhist lectures and even some latinamerican novels.

Random fact: I was a Scout for nearly 10 years as a kid, where I learned tons about teamwork, group activities, clue-based games in nature, and outdoor fun.

I am a nerd when it comes to random knowledge, I love meeting and talking to people who are crazy about their interests and can tell me something about it. Apart from that I love doing sports and trying new things. Also a movie and book freak!
