Hello, I'm Jennifer from Switzerland!

I'm 25 years old and recently graduated from university where I studied Medical Technology. Right now I'm backpacking through South East Asia, trying to challenge my comfort zone. In my free time, I like to go to the mountains for snowboarding or a little hike. I love facing new challenges, discovering new countries and traditions and getting to know people from all over the world. That's why I'm ready to embark
on a new adventure with Workaway.

I am good at working in a fast paced environment and like to be kept busy. I learn very quickly and never turn down a challenge.

In the past, I've done several side jobs outside of university, from working as a housekeeper in a retirement home to being a product promoter as well as preparing fast food or working at the cash register at sporting events. They all taught me adaptability and that you can get something out of every job.

Last year I had the opportunity to do two workaways, the first one at an animal rescue in Ireland, and the second one at a family-run farm in Spain. I was absolutely thrilled to learn about animal care and experiencing life on a farm.

I immediately felt welcome as soon as I arrived at the farm. I stayed over three weeks in February, and main tasks during this time included bird scaring, field weeding, and harvesting. I only stayed on the farm for 3 weeks, but I could have stayed longer. It was my first Workaway experience and I had no experience with animals at all, but once you get used to the tasks and learn how to interact with the animals, it is really rewarding.
