Hi there!

I'm Rachel, a 31 year old from the US. I'll be traveling through New Zealand from July 2025-July 2026 am eager to get involved in Workaways to form meaningful connections and learn about the local ways of life.

Having looked back on my travels in the past, I've come to realize that my most treasured memories have to do with the people met and experiences shared rather than the places themselves. I'm keen to fill my working holiday getting to really know people and communities, learn new skills, contribute my time and energies, share stories and smiles, and form deeper connections.

I'm a compassionate, open-minded, respectful individual and am happy to have a balance of socialization and solitude. I'm a lover of nature, animals, music, and taking time to appreciate the small, beautiful parts of life surrounding us always.

I would love to learn more about gardening, farming, and general sustainable living practices. I'd love to develop a deeper practice of yoga and meditation in my life as well and am keen to learn more about holistic practices.

While lately I'm keen to learn new skills, I do have heaps of experience in childcare and animal care/petsitting. I've also worked as an ESL teacher, waitress, housekeeper, receptionist, customer service rep, and care companion. I'm happy to help out in any of these areas.
