Description
Hi ! we are Quentin and Auberi (35 and 30 years old) and we come from Toulouse, France. We are currently travelling in Asia and we would like to find a project in which we fully invest. We are looking for a new adventure !
To talk a little about ourselves, when we are not traveling, Quentin works as a logistician in the field of national solidarity to fight poverty. He participates in the logistics organization and inventory management within an organization which recovers non-food products to redistribute them to people who are isolated, encountering extreme difficulty. The objective of the organization : everyone must be able to live with dignity in a supportive society.
Auberi works in international cooperation, she helps French local collectivities and international solidarity associations in building their project and finding funds.
Before we met, we each traveled alone and now we want to travel and be useful together. We want to discover different cultures and to meet people from other countries. It's always a pleasure for us to share discussion and learn about the culture and the life of the hosts.
To talk about our experience as a volunteer : we like to work in hotel and hostel. We are very motived and we are not afraid of outdoor work and housework. We are used to wake up early and used to do cleaning work. We like working with children and we like sociolazing with the guests and help them as much as we can to make their stay enjoyable.
Common volunteering experience :
- 2 weeks in a Muslim resort in Kota Bharu (Malaysia) : help with resort and foreigners visitors, eco gardening, fish farm
- 2 weeks in a campsite in Redang island (Malaysia) : help to maintain the campsite, keep it clean, check-in\check-out and guests support, socializing with guests, beach clean up
- 2 weeks in a resort in Nakay (Laos) : receptionist, check-in\check-out and guests support, setting up a reservation tracking system, gardening, painting, sanding
- 3 weeks in a horse-riding school and campsite in Luang Prabang (Laos) : daily care of the horses : feeding, grooming, control the hooves of the horses, train the ponies, clean/maintain the stables, clean the horseriding equipment, gardening around the stables, check-in\check-out and guests support, setting up a reservation tracking system
Auberi’s experience as a volunteer :
- 3 weeks in Oruro (Bolivia) : receptionist, help with meal preparation, waitress, socializing with the guests
- 2 weeks in the nautical base named “Les Glenans” (the French Brittany region) : clean and repair boats and all the equipments before the tourist season opens, construction of storage rack for windsurf boards, help with meal preparation
- during my studies (3 years) : fundraising for children’s rights (NGO named “UNICEF”) (French language)
- homeworks help with middle school students in French language (1 year)
Quentin’s experience as a volunteer is very varied (4 hostels and one restaurant) :
- 2 weeks in Hoi an (Vietnam) : gardening, housework, cleaning, washing the dishes were my jobs.
- 2 weeks in Dalat (Vietnam) : waiter in a café/restaurant, bartender
- 3 weeks in Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) : painting, receptionist, cleaning, sociolazing with the guests, managing a booking system on-line
- 3 weeks in Koh Rong island (Cambodia) : construction of a bungalow, to lift beams, sand sack, ciment, rocks, all kind of outdoor work, sociolazing with the guests
- 3 weeks in Siem reap (Cambodia) : bartender, waiter, receptionist, check-in/check-out, sociolazing with the guests, managing a booking system on-line
He worked also as a volunteer in a private school :
- 2 weeks in Hanoi (Vietnam) : teaching English to students aged 15 to 30
I worked as a volunteer in an orphanage :
- 4 weeks in Pondicherry (India) : teaching English to children between 6 to 13, look after the children during activities, house work, farm work, to organize a fundraising, to promote rural villages handcrafts
He worked within a family in France :
- 4 weeks in Cergy (France) : children with mobilities problems care, animal care, gardening, house care, cleaning. He really likes to work with kids in school or within a family.
- 2 weeks in Fontainebleau (France) : gardenning, cooking, house care, cleaning
- 6 weeks in Sarlat (France) : gardening in a organic garden and orchad, all kind of outdoor work, managing a booking system on-line with synchronised calendars (Booking, Airbnb, Homelidays etc...)
We would like to find a place in which we can invest entirely.
