I am a recent UCLA graduate with a degree in Anthropology and was born and raised in Southern California! With a passion for language and culture, I'm hoping to experience as much of the world and its people as I can during my time abroad. I am especially passionate about writing, language learning, and teaching, and hope to meet others with whom I can share my interests and also learn about theirs!

I recently studied abroad in South Korea, have previously gone on a solo trip to Japan when I was 17 (much to the chagrin of my concerned parents), and have also spent a month in my mother's home country of South Africa. I recently completed my first solo backpacking trip around Europe, mainly staying in hostels and with some incredible friends I met along the way.

I'm hoping to embark on my next solo trip in the next few months, this time to East and Southeast Asia! I'm dying to get back to Japan and South Korea since I fell in love with the countries, and also really want to learn about and experience the cultures and languages of Taiwan, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines!

I am a native English speaker and have developed advanced Korean proficiency after partaking in an intensive Korean language program in Korea for 7 months. I also have a slightly higher beginner knowledge of Japanese and would be more than happy to teach others about any of these languages. As for learning, I am a linguaphile at heart and would love to learn any language I come into contact with! There are so many beautiful languages in the world that I still know nothing about, so if you're willing, I would love to learn about your native language!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As a hardworking and passionate person who loves to learn and teach, I am confident in my ability to connect with those around me. I have a background in teaching toddlers (2-5) gymnastics and have experience as an animal sitter (dogs and cats), making caring for either children or animals things I am very experienced in.

My background in sports (soccer, rugby, climbing, hiking) has also given me strength that would translate well into physical labor or exercise of any sort. In trying so many new things, I have also become a very fast learner and a passionate worker.

Additionally, I have knowledge of many different cultures and languages (mainly East Asia) that I would love to share with anyone interested, as well as a love and a passion for learning about others' cultures. My degree in Anthropology has instilled within me a love of people, so I am excited to meet and connect with those from different countries!

I love being active and frequently go on walks, hikes, and climbs, and generally try to get as much outdoor time as I can. In my free time, I study languages and write, but I also enjoy baking and cooking new foods. Also, my favorite board game is Catan which I think is an incredible way to meet and connect with others!
