Kia Ora!

I am visiting New Zealand on working holiday for the summer. I am beyond excited to experience all of the rich culture and beauty that New Zealand has to offer. I am travelling through the country by car, currently making my way to the South Island.

Before coming to New Zealand I was working in Montana, USA as a boat captain in Glacier National Park! This was an amazing experience and taught me many practical skills in boating, mechanics and public speaking. It also granted me a deep respect for our natural world and advocacy for the conservation of our wild spaces. Other jobs I have held include working for an environmental nonprofit, managing an outdoor program at a summer camp as well as various hospitality positions.

I have a passion for meeting new people and making connections wherever I go. Cultural exchange is very important to me and I find it really makes travel much more meaningful. During my time here I would be honored to learn more about local agriculture and sustainable farming practices.

I am always happy to be in peaceful environments, some of my favorite activities include reading, yoga, running and cooking. I am also hoping to buy a second-hand guitar and maybe learn a few chords during the summer! As a guest I am very tidy and willing to socialize as much or as little as the host would like.

I am a quick and enthusiastic student, able to keep up with most tasks that are given to me. I have a general knowledge of gardening/farming but would love to learn more throughout this process. Additionally, I am quite the handy person, I can swing a hammer, use a drill and generally make things happen if there's a task to be done!
