I’m Marla 🌞🌞🌞
After already living abroad one year in Montreal as a teenager, I was really happy to spent 2021 in Brazil! Now my plans are to spend some time between two semesters of university in France!

This is for seeing new things, learning and meeting people which I can learn from.

Volunteering feels like the best way to really get to know the country and not just being a tourist. I like to be part of a family/community to discover its culture. :-)

After returning to Germany to live and study I have moved to Cologne. Currently I am in my 3rd semester of studying social work at the THK. Besides Uni I work in a shelter for homeless people.

I’m looking forward to practice my language skills and have a good time!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Growing up on a farm I am used to help wherever help is needed and I learned to love the outdoors!
I am having a bit of experience with horses, taking care of my own since I am 12 years old. Besides that I was working in a home nursing service as a health assistant with dementia people for the last five years, part time besides school. I’m used to help with the daily care like showering, toilet and so on!
Working with children has also brought me a lot of pleasure. Last year I worked with a group of 12 children. Together with a colleague we managed a "Spaßschule" (school of fun) for children after their everyday school day. Cooking, eating and playing games together. As a waitress I have worked my way up to knowing how to make all kinds of coffees, baking delicious cakes and decorating plates of breakfast. ;)
Living abroad in Brasil I gained some experience in reception work of a hostel.
