Hi everyone! I'm Maja from Croatia. I joined Workaway to gain new experiences, meet new people and acquire some new skills, hopefully! I love animals, travelling, spending time in nature, hiking, learning languages (currently learning Spanish), playing volleyball, swimming, and board games. My favourite way to relax is having a cup of coffee, reading a book, and listening to music. I am an easygoing person and treat others with respect and kindness.

So far I've been to three different projects, all very different but all equally amazing and interesting. I enjoyed them all and learned so much about myself and others. I'm really looking forward to continue that journey and I'm grateful for all new opportunities that are yet to come.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a translator and language tutor, but I also have experience in hospitality, babysitting / au pair, and dog training. My dad is a beekeeper so I know a little bit about beekeeping. I have some knowledge about dog behaviour. When I was younger I spent some time with various farm animals. During my studies I did some volunteering which included various helping and DIY projects so I could help with that too.

As part of Workaway experience, I spent a month and a half at a dog shelter, which helped me learn more about dogs and how they interact with each other within a pack. Also, I spent a month at a horse farm so I've learned the basics of horse care. Apart from that, I was mostly helping with cooking, cleaning tasks and general maintenance around the house, taking out weeds and gardening, making garden beds, a little bit of fencing and using electric tools, sanding and painting.

The projects I'm looking for include animal care, gardening, farming, general help around the house and cooking. I am very curious, inquisitive, and open to learning new things, so even if I don't have experience with something, I will give my best to learn it and acquire a new skill. Even though I love to socialize and meet people, I often need quiet and peaceful time for myself - usually just to think about life, listen to music, read a book, or just enjoy the moment :)
