Hello dear workaway community!

My name is Lorenza, I am 19 years old and I was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. In the summer of 2022 I finished school and decided to take some time for myself to get to know myself better and to find out what I can imagine for my future. Personally I find this decision very important, because we all should slow down in this fast world sometime :) There is so much to see and discover and I want to experience as much of it as possible.

In the summer of 2022, I traveled with the Interrail ticket and my best friends through almost all of Europe for three months. This time had a great impact on me, as I saw and experienced so many new things. Through my trip, I realized that I would love to spend a longer time abroad to have the opportunity to immerse myself in the everyday life in a completely different country.

My father was born in Italy and grew up in Rome, while my mother grew up in Germany. Unfortunately, I was not raised bilingual, but I had five years of Italian lessons during my high school time. I understand quite a bit, but I still need to practice speaking. I am very motivated to expand and consolidate my language skills, also because of my family ties. I am also considering studying abroad, which is also why I would like to improve my Italian.
I spent almost every summer of my childhood with my family in Italy in our house in a small mountain village in the Abbruzzi near the city of L'Aquila. The country, the people, the culture as well as the way of life and attitude are very close to my heart and I am looking forward to experiencing all this properly over a longer period of time.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a very fun-loving, cheerful and friendly person and enjoy learning about new activities and people. I consider myself to be very communicative, if there are any problems or conflicts, I like to clarify them immediately, which makes me a good team player. I am also very sociable, I like spending time with others - cooking together, going for walks or sitting together in the evening and playing card or board games.

In my free time I like to read and study literature, which is why I would be very interested in studying linguistics and literature in the future at a university. I also play the flute, both alone classical pieces and in a big band where we play a lot of pop songs. I really like spending time outside, enjoy nature and doing sports - I like to go running and hiking very much and I was in the rowing team of the school for six years of my high school time. Furthermore I took riding lessons from the age of nine to sixteen. Unfortunately due to covid I had to stop but I would love to get back into the daily work and care of horses. I am confident in all three gaits and I have experience in riding outside as well as on the course.
