Hi! We're so happy you're here. We loved using Workaway in our previous travels and we are excited for all the adventures we'll have helping with eco projects, families, and farming along the way! We've been together for 8 years and will be spending this year traveling through Europe and Asia 2024-2025.

Jake: I'm a film enthusiast who graduated with a degree in cinema from the University of Iowa. I'm personable, reliable, and a hard worker. For the past few years I've worked as an IT specialist for different universities and tech start ups. I love road trips, meeting new people, and trying new food and liquor from around the world. A few years ago I caught the travel bug and have been itching to leave the US and explore. I'm excited to give myself the time to get to know an area and it's people. I love to cook. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch some good recipes along the way this coming year. I ride my bike every day and am not afraid of a little hard work or exercise.

Arlinda: I'm a technology project manager who has a history of working for no profits. There are so many things that I find exciting and fun but some of my close loves are poetry, singing, and exploring. I've always been in love with the outdoors and like to push myself to try new activities like white water rafting. I'm a quick learner and hard worker but I like to make work fun. When I was a kid I would say that any chore could be made fun and I'm still the same way! There's nothing like singing your favorite songs while folding laundry, haha. Throughout my waitressing and volunteering experiences, I've learned about my passion for creating community and how important it is to keep that community welcoming, communicative, and kind in order to live in harmony. I'll have almost any conversation with you if you are willing to listen and share your thoughts. But, I won't hesitate to call someone out on their actions if they are unkind! I hope that you'll have us and we get to talk about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness.

We are both easy going and optimistic. Jake likes to cook delicious meals for his friends while watching movies. Arlinda loves to eat those delicious meals but can cook a good meal with a recipe!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Jake has an associates degree in Liberal Arts and a bachelor's in Cinematic Arts. He has previous experience in food & hospitality, film production, and has been working as an IT Analyst, assisting with various technology-related problems, for the University of Iowa for the last five years.

Arlinda has a degree in Journalism and International Studies. She has volunteered at various organizations and nonprofits throughout her life and loves working with people. She also has experience in film production and acting, and has been working as a server/bartender at a well-established restaurant in Iowa City for the past two years. She has experience in managing social media pages, planning events, photography, videography and editing, volunteering in the local community, hospitality, cleaning, and loves working with kids.
