Hello!
I'm very excited to be taking 4 months off work (September - December 2024) and explore Europe. I travelled a fair bit in my early to mid 20s, mostly in North and South America and I am eager to do a longer trip again and see more of the world.
I have an office job and when I'm not working, I love getting outside and cycling, cross country skiing, hiking, canoeing, and camping.
I've done a wide variety of different jobs/volunteering such as: teaching skiing, doing basic carpentry/construction/landscaping work, volunteering on organic farms, and doing workaway at a hostel. I'm also currently working on a TEFL course to be able to do a bit of teaching English because it's a good skill to have.

Things I want to get from traveling and workawaying:
Experience other cultures - simply just seeing other ways of life; what an average day looks like for people in a different country, how special occasions are celebrated, and how people interact with the environment around them
Learn more about sustainable practices - in Canada we aren't as environmentally conscious as many other countries. I'd love to learn more about what others do to limit their environmental impact and see the bike infrastructure in Europe!
Practice French (and Spanish) - I have a good base in both and it's always fun to work on languages in another country. Improving my French would greatly benefit me.
Learn a skill related to sustainability - learn more about growing your own food or beekeeping or green building
Adventure - hike mountains and see new places!
