Hey! I am currently on a road-trip through the US and looking for interesting people and projects to be a part of.
Description
While reading advice on how to make a good workaway profile I was instructed to tell about what kind of person I am or the things I believe in and that define me. This is great advise, there is just one problem. I have no clue. as much as it is a cliche, I'm still just figuring myself out. So in an attempt to "find myself" (I know, it couldn't be more cliche) I have set out to experience and learn as much as possible wherever I go in hopes of stumbling upon the answer to my queries.
In Iceland I learned about the beautiful things hardship creates. In Germany I discovered that if I ever wanted to experience new things or learn something difficult I would have to put myself out there and overcome my fear of judgement. When I came to Paris I put myself out there and wonderful things resulted. In Amsterdam..... well what happens in Amsterdam stays in Amsterdam. Soon I found myself in Nepal broke with nowhere to go and, with the help of some new made friends, I learned to let go and live in the moment without worrying about the future. Finally when I returned home I realized how much I took for granted. I still have a lot to learn and I can't wait to see what I'll learn with you!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I grew up on a farm so I am in general relatively handy. Some skills that I have basic proficiency in include carpentry, plumbing, car repair, gardening, and lots of other minor things required for daily life on a farm. I love to bake, cook, and homebrew while it might not turn out great I would love to try and make something for you, and learn about the local cuisine.I learn quickly and am open to stepping out of my comfort zone and trying out new things.

Elias is a beautifull soul whom is travelling with all his senses open. The whole workaway exchange went so organic it felt Elias just sensed what could be done. A very open, intelligent, warm and hardworking person - a true privilege to host. I wish u many more travels and always welcome in the forest!

I had a great time staying here all of the staff there are very friendly and welcoming! The work is mostly outside in the forest where you learn a lot about local ecology which I really enjoyed. Elias stayed with us for two weeks in November. He was super nice to have around. His biggest task at our place was to insulate the roof of the chicken house (from the inside). I stayed with Hilde and Mark for about two weeks in November and had a great time! Hilde and Mark are probably the most hospitable and communicative hosts I have stayed with to date. I would definitely recommend them to anyone else traveling in the area.

For us, Elias is not a workawayer but the angel who came to us and took over wherever we needed help. In the half year he stayed with us he became a good friend and even a family member - and it was very very hard for all of us to let him go.
It may seem very exaggerated to speak in such words about an 18 now 19 year old boy who came to support us… read more and look for a place to study. But it is not. We can clearly say he is by far the most helpful, most loved and most trustful workawayer we ever had. He stayed with us from April til the middle of October and every day he stayed with us we loved him and appreciated his help more.
Apart from his calm, patient, very caring and humble way he feels rather like a very mature, almost wise person.
Even though we had already had a few workawayers who do bodybuilding Elias completely astonished us by his amazing physical strength and durance. He is a guy who likes to do really heavy physical labour for many hours without rest and still find joy and sportive challenge in it. He was also the first workawayer who, if I watched him, made me feel like I am getting old.
He grew up on his father’s farm and is naturally very skilled in using his hands in many ways. What he does not know his hands learn in an amazingly short time, be it in gardening, carpentry, plumbing, or any other number of things. Even in his free time he bakes cakes and makes jams for pleasure and if he uses the wok to cook his food or the needle to repair his clothes you can see that he still carries a lot of other skills in him which he only randomly showed at our place.
Elias has a rather shy temperament. He is quite introverted and therefore does need time to himself in order to feel comfortable, but he is one of the most honest and emotionally balanced people I have ever met. He never shows off even though he has so many extraordinary skills; he even has the tendency to hide his strengths.
He is good with children and he is extremely trustworthy. If Johannes told him any task he mostly knew better then Johannes how to do it – this went so far that he took over most of the enormous building site. Elias knows how to work with most machines on the building site.
Last but not least he is an amazing climber with acrobatic skills.
Altogether we were honoured that we were able to host superman for half a year.
We will never forget you. THANK you so much and hopefully we will meet again soon.

He is not the kind of perso that talks too more than the necessary but he likes to listen and learn.

Jessica and Gerson were my first experience with workaway and It was a wonderful introduction to this community! they will make you feel welcome and at home and you will learn a lot about the area.
