Description
Hello! I'm Ed, a translator from Wales (I speak French, German and Spanish). When not at my desk I love to be outdoors – running, hiking or tending to my vegetable patch. I also love campervanning and hanging out with my cat, Babs!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Hospitality: Over the years I have worked as a tour guide, barman, receptionist, server, cleaner and kitchen helper. I enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories.
Languages: For the past decade or so I have worked as a translator, mainly for international organisations. I have an excellent command of English and a firm grasp of French, German and Spanish. I have led workshops to help my colleagues to improve their written English and am passionate about sharing my knowledge of languages.
DIY: I am a competent DIYer and woodworker and can turn my hand to most manual tasks. In 2020 I converted a minibus into a fully equipped campervan, with solar panels and 12v electrics, running water and gas hobs. I also converted a summerhouse into a fully insulated home office (battening, plasterboarding, electrics). In my own home, I have spent many an hour paint stripping, sanding, varnishing and putting up shelves. I am detail oriented and enjoy problem-solving.
Gardening/smallholding: I have my own allotment plot and enjoy tending to my crops and producing as much of my own food as possible. I have erected polytunnels, sheds, greenhouses, and compost bins. I used to keep ducks, for which I built a secure duck run and a house made from pallets and timber offcuts. I try to be sustainable and re-use and recycle materials wherever possible. I recently set up a rainwater harvesting system for my allotment plot.Âge

Autres infos...
I enjoy running and am currently training for my fifth marathon. I love to explore my surroundings on foot.
I am a keen board gamer. My favourite games are Catan and Agricola.
I grew up with and love dogs and cats. I used to derive great peace and satisfaction from watching my ducks preen and forage. Humans have a lot to learn from animals!Informations complémentaires
