Description

Hi! I'm Ellie. I'm very passionate about environmental work and being outdoors, and am pushing myself into new experiences. I am motivated by purpose - I want to provide help and be a safe space for other people. I honestly feel that our connection to each other and to nature is the most important things in this world.
I'm currently in-between schools, so I'm hoping to do some traveling and eco-projects and learn more about the world outside of what I know. I have a variety of knowledge in outdoor work (and indoor work) and would love to pick up some new skills. I'm a quick learner and feel most fulfilled when I complete a good task.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have plenty of outdoor experience - I work at a summer camp and grew up camping - so that includes trail clearing, farm animal care, campsite work, making something out of nothing, mild fire skills. I have some experience with handyman skills - sawing, hanging things, fixing broken items, plenty of painting experience - but I'm less versed in power tools. I have worked very heavily in gardening at my camp and at home, and have something of a green thumb. I'm very attentive to details and do really enjoy being given instructions. I have plenty of people skills - I worked as an usher for about 2.5 years for a large theater and have worked at camp for nearly 6 years. I have volunteered before for local libraries and participated in mission trips rebuilding houses and food pantries and collecting crops for food insecure individuals.
I am also good at organizing, cleaning, decluttering, mild child care (though I have no formal training), and writing.
I am a fast and adaptive learner and honestly am excited to work on anything. I'm very passionate about helping and giving back, so I'm more than happy to jump into anything. Show me a new skill and I'll usually only need a little guidance afterwards.

I love to read and learn about new topics! I'm particularly fond of environmentally conscious books and 18th century romance - but only if the girl is powerful. I write poetry and am inspired by my surroundings. I love board games like Stratego, Monopoly, and Clue. I am trying to make running a hobby. When I have more time on my hands, I often craft, like knitting, embroidery, painting, sewing, etc. I am very good at sewing repairs and often enjoy it. I have many plants that I tend to, so I suppose that is also a hobby. They are all named and I am very fond of them.
