Description
Robert and I retired (early) in 2021 so that we could slow-travel and see our amazing planet. We sold everything and left for Costa Rica in Sept 2021, and then it was a rapid pace of Nicaragua, Colombia, Cambodia and Thailand. We came back to the United States in July 2022 to embark on professional housesitting (five-star rating with TrustedHousesitters). We love being able to visit new areas, but also like having responsibilities that create a deeper bond to each area. We both love animals and trees, meeting people, discovering off beaten path locales as well as well-loved "touristy" areas. We enjoy simple pleasures, such as sitting underneath a gorgeous tree and taking in the landscape. Elizabeth has a passion for taking care of roses. Robert loves to care for plants and to get creative in landscaping. Things that make Elizabeth happy are drawing and painting, organizing trips and touring (she's the logistical force behind their travels), singing and all types of music. Things that make Robert happy are fishing, kayaking, hiking, exploring new areas and also enjoying music. Both Robert and Elizabeth have a strong sense of traveling ethically, being respectful to others, and to treasure the natural wonders of Earth.

Robert is highly skilled at home maintenance, such as light carpentry, plumbing, electrical and fixing many things around the house. He is a talented welder and enjoys making things out of steel. He was in maintenance at a large industrial waste plant for over twenty years. He has owned five homes (with his first bought at age 22) and through pride in ownership, always made sure his home was "the best on the street." He has patience with people and animals and is dedicated to finishing a job in a timely and proficient manner. Elizabeth's skill set is a result from her 25 years in sales and service. She easily makes conversations with just about anyone. She is an "advanced beginner" in Spanish and is eager to improve her language skills (she is also learning Portuguese). She can perform gardening duties, such as planting and sowing and can learn new skills easily. She enjoys creative cooking. Elizabeth's passion is art and music. She would like to add an artistic flair to painting walls, furniture and planters. She loves to sing and would be happy to lead a group sing-along.
