Hi, I'm Elena ! I decided to take a gap year just after finishing high school, intending to volunteer and travel around Europe, to gain some life experience.
I’m looking forward to projects that can help me grow out of my comfort zone, improving both my languages and my everyday skills.

I’m really grateful to have this opportunity to grow, learn new things and meet new people. I’m looking forward to what and who I’ll encounter, hoping to find positions in a good spirit and full of new experiences!

I’m French and I’ve been living in France my whole life, so it’ll be a pleasure to teach my mother tongue. I’m fluent in English and I’m even hoping to master it throughout the year. I also have the basics of speaking Spanish, mostly in comprehension, though I intend to improve my speaking. I’m open to learning your language as well, always eager to acquire new linguistic skills.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As I’m fresh out of high school I don’t have that much work experience outside the last few months I spent volunteering.

I’ve worked at an animal shelter in Greece and at an alpaca farm in Norway: therefore, I’m comfortable with animal care, gardening and outside tasks, not reluctant to dirty or physical work.
I’ve also been an au pair in Scotland for a month, aside from the fair amount of babysitting I’ve done in the past 3 years, with children from 2 to 15 years old. More than just looking after them, I could help with school-related stuff or even learn English or French.
I can easily give a hand around the house with chores or cooking as well, help with general maintenance, small DIYs or renovation/building.

I grew up in a “you can do it yourself” kind of house so I’m fine with nearly everything! I’m a fast learner, I have a great sense of responsibility and I’m adaptable: I’ll be happy to help with whatever task you could give me and I’ll make sure to be reliable for you.

A bit about me, outside these relevant skills:
I love spending time with new people, sharing good moments and deep conversations, as much as I enjoy some alone time, either reading or studying various subjects I’m interested in, now that I have the time! I’m really fond of cooking and baking and I’ll be delighted to make you French dishes from my childhood. I also enjoy playing cards or classic board games (it’s a family tradition!). Other than that, I like going on walks, wandering around the city and discovering new places. Indeed, I intend to vlog this year and I’m always trying to find the perfect spot to take a picture, while romanticizing and capturing little glimpses of everyday life.
