Hey there! My name is David, and I live in a town called Tilburg in The Netherlands. In 2016 I graduated from my Photography Bachelors, worked in film production and research for documentaries in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and worked in communication for a film theatre. In the summer of 2023 I finished my master's in Art and Digital Culture Studies.

I'm on Workaway because I want to work with my hands and take care of people and places -and to learn skills that are becoming rare in our technology driven world, but also as part of my effort to meet new people and learn about their perspectives. So I appreciate this counter-movement and am interested in what collaborations might result from it. I'm becoming increasingly interested in learning more about small-scale community living and ways to live a healthy and sustainable life.

I'm a music and cinema lover. I also closely follow the current debates and love to talk politics. I also find joy in helping others, and used to clean elderly people's houses for a living. If the opportunity arises and the language allows, I would love to continue doing this elsewhere. Cleaning is one of the things that helps me unwind and clear my mind. I consider myself a homebody and love to create warm and welcoming environments, especially through cooking and experimenting with new flavors in the kitchen. Cooking, cleaning, and manifesting cozy vibes is definitely my thing :) I love taking care of- and playing with children and I'm a big animal friend.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- I enjoy being attentive to others and creating an inclusive environment where everyone is treated equally and accepted for who they are. I strongly oppose hierarchy and believe in fostering open communication.

- In previous projects I did some stone wall building; intensive physical work regarding renovating property; gardening; different agriculture projects regarding maintaining the irrigation system, plowing the land, preparing it for sowing; I've helped harvesting olives and fruit, and cooked with what was available from the land.

- I'm relaxed around children and know how approach them.

- I also know how to take care of animals: donkeys, dogs, chicken, etc.

- Assisting in creative projects, anything art-related, both production-wise and conceptually!

- I mentioned love cleaning and organising spaces.

- Participating in language exchange!

- Skilled in furniture building and general interior design.

- Though due to necessity: I have moved a lot throughout my life. Give me a bucket of paint and I know what to do.

- Here in the Netherlands we have our little vegetable and flower garden, and I keep an interest in soil health.
