Description
Hi! I'm Cora, and I'm travelling to experience new cultures, traditions and ways of living, learn useful skills and find my way and purpose in life.
I've got a quiet and peaceful personality, creative and shy sometimes, with lots of patience and perseverance. Though not very talkative I like to learn and discuss new ideas, stories and points of view. I love to work with animals and plants and to do things with my hands, and I'm looking forward to keep learning about self sustainable and nature friendly lifestyles, horticulture,medicinal plants, healthy meals, ecological building, manufacture of ceramic pottery and soap... To live closer and in harmony with nature.

Along my volunteer experience -which has been going on for more than five fears now- I've done and learned things like farming (taking care of diverse animals like goats, hens, sheep -including a shearing session-, horses, ducks); horse communication and training; various artistic projects; crafts with wood and branches, like doors and fences; gardening and permaculture, weeding, planting, potting and growing seeds on a polytunnel; harvesting and packing veggies and fruits; preapring medicinal herbal infusions; some construction work like putting insolation pannels, covering a wall with clay, restoring an old stone wall, sanding and painting; and also worked in some hostels, B&b and campsites.

Fond of medieval times, fantasy, celtic/nordic cultures and sword mastery, I used to practice medieval sword fighting & reenactment back on my hometown; I love mythology, paganism, mysticism and legends. Being close to nature and having some time for myself is essential for me; however I also enjoy spending time and sharing life with more people. Music is also an important part of my life, my favourite genres being celtic/ irish/ folk/ medieval; I play violin, drums and a bit flute and guitar, and love to listen other people play as well.

Very good! I stayed one week with Phil and Helen; they are very welcoming and dinamic people, they let you in as part of the family. I stayed with this family for one and a half month. I don't think I can put in words what is on my heart, Im not very good at expressing myself so what I will write here is not even the half of what I would like to say. But I try.

They are very open minded, very friendly and they like to spend time with workawayers and share experiences and… read more stories. They are very close together and have a lot of love and knowledge to share. From the first day they treat you as a part of the family and always make sure that you feel good there. And the place has such a good energy and high vibrations! The whole area is magical, surrounded by nature, with several rivers and lakes nearby and of course the black forest. The sky at night is amazing, with lots of stars, strangely beautiful moon and clouds and misty mountains in the evenings and mornings. And if there is a storm the colour and the feeling of the air changes and gets very mistical and magic. I felt like being on Rivendel or another similar place hidden and far from the world.

Johannes always finds the right job for you; he always managed to give me tasks out of the sun as I can't spend many time in the sunshine. He is fear with the jobs and the time, never will make you work more than the agreed hours per day and always will make sure that you feel comfortable doing your asigned task. He always has your opinion in mind and is open to suggestions and different ways to doing things; and of course never will give you a job that he wouldnt do by himself. Actually, he is really a hard worker man, he never stops doing things!
Fei is a great chef, her chinese meals are really delicious and she likes to experiment and try new dishes, which are always even more delicious. Most of the vegetables are from their own huge veg garden, I never ate so much salad in my life (but I enjoyed it very much).
And I was a bit scared when I read they have 2 children, but Laura is the sweetest baby in the world -she would always give me her milk bottle or spread it all over my clothes, I will miss that- and Sophia has her own strong personality, she says hello to you minimum 10 times per day :)
The family grows bigger with all the animals: lovely cat, chickens, hens, most friendly and big cock I've ever met, and funny ducks. Taking care of the baby ducks was very nice and cute experience, it felt so good when they looked stronger and healthier each day.

In my free time I enjoyed playing music, going by bike, exploring the area and being surrounded by nature all the time. And of course good company and some nights stories and music around the fire. At the end I felt like part of the family, and the work didnt seem like work at all, but more like a help and an exchange in a community in which everyone helps the other.
I felt a bit sad when I left, but I know it won't be the last time we will meet. I hope to see a great progress in the project and in the house next time I visit! Thank you family, for sharing so much. I will miss you!
