  • Description

Hello! My name is Annie, and I am a traveler with desires to connect with others and live more sustainably. I am a hard worker who appreciates and thrives in community. I strive to live with intentions and lately have been getting lots of exposure to various locations and jobs to learn more about who I am, where I want to be and what I want to be doing. I have been traveling and working seasonally to gain more insight on these questions. I am excited to see where life takes me.

I have lived in Florida, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and California each for a variety of time. A couple of years ago I spent several months in the Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho) while sleeping in a car. I have also experienced 14 countries in Europe on a 2 month backpack trip.

I feel my best when I live closely connected to the Earth, teach others, follow permaculture principles and contribute to hands-on, purposeful work to better our community and home. I find joy in rebuilding with waste material, reducing food waste, gardening, connecting with others, practicing mindfulness (through meditation, yoga, and journaling) and being creative through art projects.

I ask questions and take pride in a job well done. I have a bachelor’s in Exercise Science and have since worked in various social work fields (mental health facility) in addition to being an environmental educator to students ages 10-80. In Missoula, MT I volunteered for a bicycle powered compost company where I found purposeful work, meaningful conversations and a nice workout.

I am eager to learn more and travel the world while learning sustainable farming and building practices, while assisting various farms along the way. My dream is to use the knowledge I receive along the way to eventually create an educational, holistic, sustainable, homestead/community.

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I desire to continue learning more about natural building, sustainable/regenerative agriculture, repurposing materials, and using renewable energy!

I am hard working and love to learn. I am thoughtful, curious, careful and listen well to instructions. I am a hands-on and visual learner. I try my best and make sure the job is done right. I am empathetic and a great communicator by being open and honest. I am enthusiastic about this world and am excited for new opportunities. I am fun, loving, adventurous, and longing to spend most of my time in the beautiful outdoors.

I have been living/working on an off grid, organic, permaculture farm and educational center off and on for multiple months per year.

I have completed various jobs during this time such as: building with repurposed materials (lumber and metal), creating bamboo structures, sculpting a cob oven, deconstructing and rebuilding a swing/lounge area (destroyed by Hurricane Michael), using chop and drop techniques to restore garden beds, planting hundreds of seeds and trimmings, pruning and propagating, mulching, harvesting produce from the land, using A-frame to create swales and berms, creating hugelkultur beds, canning and preserving, painting, organizing storage areas, chopping firewood, clearing the creek of debris, clearing trails, tractor bush-hogging, chainsawing, and assisting in a prescribed burn.
