I am currently working at a sheep farm in Norway. My plan is to keep travelling in Europe until August. I’m excited for new experiences, learning new skills and making friends along the way.

Description

Hey!

My name is Anna, and I’m from Graz — a beautiful city in the southeast of Austria.
I would describe myself as a calm yet adventurous person, always excited for new experiences. It gives me a thrill to think about the adventures that lie ahead of me while traveling, the skills I’ll learn, the things I can share, and the people I’ll meet.

In Graz, I’ve been working at a café for the past two years, and I’ve also gained experience in nursing, at an animal shelter, and on farms. I genuinely enjoy my work, and in my free time, I play rugby at my local club and express myself creatively through knitting, painting, and pottery.

My plan is to begin my studies at an Art University in Denmark next September. Until then, I’m looking forward to exploring the world and connecting with inspiring people and places. From previous travels — through Scandinavia, Costa Rica, India and Switzerland — I’ve experienced how fulfilling it is to step out of my comfort zone and learn from challenges. I put my whole heart and hard work into things that I am passionate about and I am eager to bring this dedication to any project or community I become a part of.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

ANIMAL CARE AND FARMING
I’ve had the pleasure of working on two farms in Norway and Switzerland, as well as volunteering at an animal rescue center in Costa Rica. There, I worked with animals such as sloths, monkeys, parrots, wild pigs, deer, sheep, geese, and chickens. I learned how to prepare their food, clean their enclosures, and how to behave respectfully in their space.
On the farms, I also helped with hay harvesting, preparing a vineyard for harvest, and working in the greenhouse — planting seeds, weeding, and caring for young plants.

CREATIVE / CRAFTSMANSHIP SKILLS
During my education in ceramics at a technical high school in Graz I learned techniques such as throwing, moulding, sculpting, and glazing.
I enjoy all kinds of craftsmanship, including painting, sewing, and knitting.
During a previous WWOOF stay, I had the opportunity to paint a mural on a farmhouse and draw a floor plan of the property (see last picture).

VISUAL MEDIA SKILLS
During my time at school, I gained basic visual media skills in photography, filmmaking, and graphic design, which I love using to document creative processes and daily life.

HOSPITALITY
I loved working in a café because it allowed me to connect with people and make them feel welcome. It’s truly rewarding to create a friendly atmosphere and see guests leave with a smile :)

COOKING AND BAKING
I enjoy cooking, and especially baking. I’d love to share some traditional Austrian dishes and desserts with my hosts!
