Hi! I'm Angie, 18. I grew up on a hobby farm in a small town along the south east coast of Australia with my parents, 3 older sisters, a couple of dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, cows and horses. I spent 3 months solo backpacking and Workawaying in Italy last Dec-Feb and it was the best experience of my life. After coming back to Australia I have moved away from home to start my first year of university in Melbourne, majoring in creative writing.
I have discovered an immense love of travelling, and learning of and experiencing other cultures. However it is truly the people you meet that are the best part of this whole thing. I am also a lover of art, literature, movies, nature and animals. I write in my free time and will always have a book nearby. It is my ultimate dream to publish novels one day. I also sculpt with clay, love to dance and sew some of my own clothes.
I have volunteered as an assistant teacher at my dance studio for younger kids for about 2 or 3 years, and have experience in retail and in owning a small business. Through Workaway I have helped teach English to children at a school in Rome, done housework in Florence, childcare in Sorrento, and helped around the yard in Palermo.
I am also passionate about the environment (flexible vegan) and value sustainable living. I am a quiet person who enjoys solitude, but I am also hardworking, love engaging in conversation and am respectful of all people and their diversities. Ultimately, I just want to learn as much as I can, have fun and step outside of my comfort zone.
