My partner Ulric and I are new on workaway and definitly ready for new experiences and adventures. After years of dreaming about going abroad, we decided we finally had enough of waiting and now we plan to discover the UK and Ireland in the late summer 2024.

We are both 25ish queer & neurodivergent artists (though we actually struggle a bit to make art a consistent part of our daily lives) and we are looking to expand our world with different perspectives, in the hope it can help us find our own way in life. We are both french and currently live in Brittany.

We did wwoofing in France before (mostly in herbal and organic farms) and found it a suitable (and cheap) way of travelling and discover new places, people and skills, which is why we decided to go abroad through workaway.

Ulric is a professional seamster and a literature graduate (as I am). He loves cooking, hiking, drawing and is passionate about history (especially Middle Age and Antiquity). He would very much learn more about gardening, and has an interest in art therapy and self-care. For my part, I like reading, drawing and crafting, imagining and/or telling stories. I'm quite passionate about mythology and fairytales. I also know a bit about infography. We both have an interest in sustainable and ecological ways of life, as well as in art and cultural matters as a whole. We would very much like to learn about folktales and local legends.

We are interested in learning any language. Practicing English more would be really great too as we didn't have too many opportunities to do so in France. We could teach French and Latin. We could learn and practice together with Spanish, Italian, Japanese or Finnish if you are interested.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Ulric and I have both household management skills (he loves to cook, I often bake, we clean, make the dishes and the laundry...). Ulric also helped at an Airbnb place before. I grew up with several cats (and still has one myself) and my parents have hens, Ulric is comfortable with cats, dogs and horses, so we have some pet and animal care skills too. As for children care, Ulric took care of his 8 years younger brother, and I did several babysittings for 3 sisters of 2, 4 and 6 years old.

We are also competent in animation : we are in the process of getting our bafa certification and had a formation about animating writing sessions. We are both French literature graduates and have some experience in teaching (French literature, French, English) too. I have some graphic designer skills and Ulric is teaching himself how to manage social medias. We both have communication skills with people.

Ulric wants to learn more about gardening, though we haven't had a lot of experience with this as we actually live in a flat with no exterior space allowing it. We make our own washing liquid with ivy. We're used to light DIY works, Ulric is comfortable using basic tools and helped his parents renovate their house when he was a teenager. He's also a professional seamster. I have a French driving license, and I am going to do some painting work soon so I expect I'll have some experience in this then. We are interested in learning what we don't know how to do. Ulric is very eager and I am quite thorough.

We also are artists : we write (both fiction and non-fiction), draw, paint. We are currently teaching ourselves different arts & craft (making malas, embroidery, tablet weaving...) and music instruments (ukulele for Ulric, piano for me). I can sing quite well, and Ulric took dance and drama classes when he was younger.

We both are tea enthusiasts and book hoarders. We never cower in front of a costume opportunity. We enjoy animated movies, good music (currently rock and folk mainly), and escape games, mystery solving, and role playing. We greatly enjoy medieval festival and craftpersons markets. We are both fond of ancient crafts and traditional ways. We are immensely interested in discovering local literature. We enjoy queer topics. We also practice meditation.
