Description

I'm Zoe, 28, a social worker with a love for nature, animals, food and learning about different countries and cultures. My partner Jack is 34 and has a background in healthcare, including mental health and community services. Jack and I have been together for six years, and we’ve done a fair bit of travelling together — mostly in Southeast Asia — and now we're heading through South, Central, and North America on a longer trip. We're hoping to do a few WorkAway stays along the way to get a more local experience, meet new people, and learn as much as we can from the communities we spend time in.

We're both easygoing, respectful, and happy to get involved in a variety of tasks. We’ve done a lot of house and dog sitting across Australia in exchange for accommodation, so we’re used to taking care of spaces and animals with care and responsibility.

We’re both open-minded, curious, and just keen to spend time in places where we can learn, help out, and connect with people in a genuine way.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Zoe - I have a background in social work, community services and hospitality. I have worked with many different age groups and demographics including children, adults, older people, veterans and the homeless. I love cooking and gardening and am keen to give just about anything a go. I've also started to learn Spanish and am keen to strengthen this.

Jack - I have a background in healthcare, including mental health and community services. I also have experience in IT, all building work, mechanics, landscaping and farm work (agricultural and cattle). I love learning and I’m always up for trying new things. I’ve got a pretty broad set of interests and skills, some I have listed above, although the list is not exhaustive.

If we don't know how to do something, I’ll give it a go and usually pick things up quickly. We like practical work but also really enjoy connecting with people and learning about different ways of life.

We’ve both done a lot of house and pet sitting in Australia as well, looking after dogs and homes in exchange for accommodation, so I’m used to being responsible with other people’s spaces and animals.
