Hi! I'm Vian (28) currently doing working holiday in Japan. I have spent most of my life in a small city in Sweden surrounded by nature and snow, which I slowly with the time started to appreciate more and more. I find motivation in learning & doing new things, since I find with every challenge a potential to grow as a person. Sustainability and protecting our environment is very important to me, and I am therefore very interested in Eco projects and vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. There are several things that bring me happiness and joy in life, such as doing the things I love (hiking, climbing, camping, biking, Painting, embroidery, playing guitar & singing, ) as well as helping others and getting to know new people and exploring new places. I find joy and fulfillment in having meaningful connection with people where we bring the best out of each other and learn from one another. I'm also a very curious person, and find excitement in learning about history, different lifestyles, people and cultures.

I have been raised with parents who spoke a different language than the country where I lived, which exposed me already to life using different languages on a daily basis. In Japan, I went to language school for 1 year and 6 months (2016-2017) and there I learned Japanese as well as improved my English through speaking with fellow foreigner students. My Japanese also improved at that time throughout doing different part-time jobs where only Japanese was spoken & used. Lastly, living in Germany for the last 4 years and working there, I learned my fifth language and became fluent in it. Overall, I am very interested in languages and fascinated by the different ways one can express themselves, and how much growth it also offers. I am therefore very interested in languages and have usually fun time learning new ones.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have different hospitality experiences in Japan, Sweden and Germany. Multiple jobs I have done were in restaurants with main tasks including being in the kitchen as well as in the service receiving orders and being on the cashier. In Japan, I have also worked in 2016/2017 part-time apart from in a restaurant, also in a Hotel at the reception. There I helped with guiding the customers, complete check in and check out tasks, as well as helping to rewrite the hotel catalog from Japanese to English.
In Sweden, I also worked in a museum as a receptionist, and on weekends I was an art workshop leader for children. Apart from offering my service and cooking skills, I can also speak 5 different languages (Japanese N2, German C1, English C1, Swedish C2, Arabic C1) and can therefore offer customers help in different languages, or help to teach languages.
I am also very interested in crafting like painting, sewing, embroidery and a bit wood crafting, and can therefore learn very well any had crafting job, but also can offer some of my knowledge specially regarding painting and embroidery.
I have also studied civil engineering and worked in projects for improving railway infrastructure. I might therefore also be able to offer some of my knowledge to help in renovating projects, especially on how to build more sustainably and how to make the house/building more energy efficient.

I have many interests and hobbies and usually very open to try new things and go on adventures! I love taking care of plants and enjoyed every year growing summer flowers in my balcony. Likewise, I also have many houseplants and enjoy watching them grow every year. Sustainability and environmental-friendly lifestyle means a lot to me. I therefore prefer eco farming, eating vegetarian and shopping secondhand as much as the circumstances allow.
I have also done some bike tours (up to one week) and enjoy cycling all year long. Crafting, painting and drawing is something I have been doing for many years, and I am really interested in DIY projects and any crafting projects!! I also LOVE wood and wood crafting!
I also play guitar and love singing and music ! :)
In the last years I have been going a lot for hikes in the alps in south Germany but also in Switzerland and Norway. This is something I definitely want to do when I am in Japan, to enjoy nature, mountains and hiking.
