Description

Hello! We are currently looking for adventures this summer whereby we can spend more time outside, using practical skills and meeting new people. We're both extroverted and social, however, we are also very content with the quieter side of life and spending time alone (together or apart). In our spare time we like going on hikes, and recently we completed the West Highland Way! We share a very mutual love for the outdoors and practical projects.

Ruaridh:
I'm from a small village Carr-bridge in the Scottish highlands i come from a large family with many siblings, we always had pets growing up so i absolutely love caring for animals. music has always been a big part of my life as well learning the bagpipes from a young age.
I've mainly been a chef for the last 8 years which I've really enjoyed the highlight of which making my way up to a head chef role in the lake district, for a couple of years during my cheffing career i dropped to part time to pursue a love for joinery working as a joiners mate for 2 years, covering a lot of aspects of carpentry and building. i have always enjoyed working outdoors which lead me to seeking out qualifications from the Scottish school of forestry when I left school securing work with local forestry businesses.

Farming: some experience on sheep farms
Full driving licence since February 2020
Environmental: currently working for conversation
Language: Qualified English Teacher
Music: Piano and Flute grade 8
Writing: Creative writer and academic writer
Outdoor adventure: 8 summers working as activity instructor or camp counsellor (I do not have any outdoor qualifications in date)
Management: Activity manager for Weymouth language school
First aid: 3 year certificate gained in June 2024
Safeguarding: As Activity manager I also managed the safeguarding
Events: I was an event coordinator for York University
