    * Currently doing a workaway-stay in Spain until May - Looking for a host in Norway from late May *

    Hello there 😀
My name is Thomas and I'm a 23-year-old danish boy not yet sated when it comes to experiencing the wonders of travelling. Currently I'm living with 4 of my friends from a danish folk high school, working at a specialty coffee bar until spring, where I'll be travelling around Europe doing workaway. Last April I came home from a 9-month journey around Europe with my ex-girlfriend in our self-converted van. Throughout this trip we spent approximately 4,5 months doing workaway at three different hosts. I've come to absolutely love workaway and the possibilities it offers workawayers and hosts alike and I'm definitely looking forward to doing more of it in the future!
    Following is some further information.

I would describe myself as an easy-going and gentle, friendly, passionate and curious person living life one step at a time, always ready to help other people in any way I can. Furthermore I'm hard-working and dedicated. My favourite moments are with a book - or instrument - in hand and a cup of coffee or tea by my side. One of my bigger interests is music. It's been a big part of my life since I started playing the piano around the age of 10, and taught me to appreciate the privilege of being able to take a break from a busy day.

What really drives me though, is observing, taking advice and learning from people who are expertly passionate about something. This is generally the goal of my travels. To learn as much as I can from and meet passionate people.

A quick rundown of my interests would be:
    - Cooking
    - Reading - Everything from Tolkien to Marcus Aurelius
    - Specialty Coffee - Admittedly quite an expensive hobby ;))
    - Hiking - Looooove the mountains
    - Being in and around nature
    - Music - Piano and cello primarily, though I do play some guitar as well
    - Helping other people

If my profile has caught your interest and you're looking for a workawayer who isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty feel free to contact me!

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Growing up on a farm-like property has taught me many great things. Doing my best, while trying to enjoy life as much as possible in the meantime is just one of them. This has always been something I strive for, so that's generally how I would tackle tasks that are new to me. With a little introduction and help, I would say I can be taught to do most things and I'm very open to doing just that.

Helping my family with countless tasks on the property and in the woods gave me some experience in DIY building projects, making firewood, gardening, lawnmowing, housekeeping etc. I moved out with a couple of friends for 8 months at the age of 17 which if anything certainly made my cooking better (at least a little bit 🤣)

During my first workaway-stay in the hilly parts of eastern Tuscany I've learned a lot while during things like weeding and mulching fruit trees, splitting and collecting firewood while driving a tractor, general maintenence, small DIY-projects, cleaning the cow's stable, digging out a basement, taking care of the garden etc - further info can be found in my first review.

During my two next workaway-experiences I've done and - whenever I hadn't tried it before - learnt some new things like maintaining a pool, using tools like a 'weed-whacker' and leaf-blower, moving the lawn, planting lettuce etc., pruning and harvesting olive-trees, cleaning and general maintenence, helping with cooking (which has - in my humble opinion - made me a better cook). Furthermore my ex-girlfriend and I took care of a farm in northern Spain for 3 weeks (Feeding horses, dogs, hens, geese, watering the plants etc.) while our hosts were on a vacation. Our two hosts, one north of Rome in Italy, the second north of Barcelona in Spain have come to almost feel like family to us - so we haven't yet gotten to writing reviews yet - hence the missing reviews from these two workaway-stays. :)

Furthermore, I have a lot of experience in fitnees and strengthtraining and also took a massage course, as I'm probably going to educate myself as a chiropractor when I'm done travelling (definitely not in the near future :) ). My experiences with music also taught me a lot. Being mostly self taught, I have come to know the importance of dedicating oneself to perfection of the small details that eventually become beneficial in the future.
