NOTE: I have proof of my Covid vacinations and my Booster.
Despite my age I am a fit, enthusiastic female. I am hardworking, cheerful and reliable. After many years in the RAF I decided to now have a few years as a Workawayer for long or short periods. Over the last 9 years I have volunteered gardening, working with animals, birds and teaching children in England and abroad so am used to adapting to different environments and like to be outside. I completed my 7th Workaway in March 2014 at a school in the Nepalese Himalayas where I tutored Nepalese children in English and also helped the host with painting and decorating. I have completed a Workaway in April last year, in Dorset, gardening and cutting back trees and weeds in grounds of a plant nursery and have just done 10 days looking after goats at a farm in Derbyshire. .I did a month in Spain, gardening in February. I have also worked at farms and smallholdings in the UK and Europe which involved gardening and vegetable growing and harvesting.

I am definitely not a hedonist but even though I have lovely family and friends in England (including a grown up son and Granddaughter), I like to travel and get the most out of life. I have just spent a lovely week at Gilians quirky home. She is a lovely warm, good hearted person who loves her garden, which is beautiful. I mainly helped prepare the flower beds for planting plus tidied up in general. I had a lovely bedroom and used the kitchen/diner to prepare my breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner. This was my second Workaway and I really enjoyed it. The work was not hard and Barbara made sure that I got to visit the nearby towns and villages to get totally immersed in the Normandy way of life. I also had nice evenings sitting in front of Barbara's log fire with a nice glass of wine and the dog and cats to keep us company. Lovely.

So far we have had over 100 volunteers. Odette at 60 is the oldest. However she does not show her age at all. She is fitter, more enthusiastic, more cheerful, has more common sense than most people in their 20s. It was a pleasure to have her here for 2 weeks.
