Dear reader,

My name is Rogier, I am 27 years old and from Den Haag, Netherlands and partly living in Cologne, Germany. Since I was young, my mother would travel around the world with me and I haven't stopped since. Travelling and discovering cultures bring me great joy.

My biggest passion of all is cooking, it's a job I can do all day long, I am an experienced cook and have been working in kitchens for many years. I also finished hotel & hospitality university of applied sciences. I would love to learn more about the Mediterranean and Asian kitchen.

Besides cooking, I love working in the garden or do agriculture work, just like cooking this calms my mind down and I can be fully present.

Some other helpful facts / skills about me:
- I am a big animal fan (all pets welcome) and take care myself of 2 cats at home
- I am technical (with computer, website design, graphic design work etc)
- I have a entrepreneurial skill set (setting up businesses)
- I consider myself to be open to many ideas and philosophies, and love to have deep conservations.
- I have a degree in hotel & hospitality
- I speak English, Dutch and German


The reason why I am currently applying for WorkAway is because in the last years I have been very busy building my online business, I haven't had a lot of time to travel and explore cultures, and love to get into this again, as this makes me truly happy. Also my next steps will be going back in the culinary world, so I am looking to learn new skills in cooking, gardening or production.

Currently I run my online business on the side, but I have a lot of time on my hands which I like to fulfill to any voluntary jobs and spend some time immersing into culture.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a big love and passion for cooking, if you need a cook for breakfast, lunch or dinner, I am your chef. I have been working in many kitchens since I was 15 years old. Anything connected to cooking like agriculture, I love to do as well.

I am not exclusively looking for jobs in cooking, but for me it would be a personal plus.
I love to learn more of the cultures I visit.

My current run my own online business which is focussed on booking musical artists for live events and doing design jobs for several clients, its running largely on its self, which gives me a lot of time to do other things.
