Hello, Bonjour, Hallo. My name is Robin, I'm 22 and I am Belgian, with German roots from my father. I was born in Brussels and always have lived here.

I am lucky to have traveled a lot as a kid and still love to discover new places. I am always happy to speak different languages, maybe I'll be a polyglot some day. Training my languages is one of my big pleasures in life.

I am a bit introvert sometimes, but be sure that I like to talk and converse with people from the world. I love biking, football, meditate, discover, cook, take my time, collective intelligence, racket sports, games... I also like to learn about specific topics.

My strong skills are Speaking languages, Taking care of animals and my Calm attitude.
But I can take care of elderly, do physical work, brainstorm with you, and many other things !

I like Workaways with definite working hours. I am searching for a place with multiple people living, bustling with life. I want to live like you live, day to day, meet the other workawayers, share with you, etc.
Of course I don't want to be made profit from, more a human thing is what I am looking for, see our differences and similarities and talk about it, I find very interesting.

I spent two full months in this concept farm with animals near Eindhoven (from 25th april to 25th june 2022). My two previous workaways were in families with parents etc. but this one is different : I lived on the workplace and the hosts are not living there except one. I was living with the other workawayers and I am lucky that for most of my… read more time there, I was only living with one or two other guys (with whom I created a good bond, my last week there was a total mess because we were living together at 6 or 7 guys, the host didn't seem in control of anything.

I arrived in Eindhoven wanting to bike, enjoy the Dutch culture, discover the city. Gladly there were bike on the "farm" to get for a 50€ deposit and they were not bad. Also if you enjoy outside work (I went in summer), this is good for you. Taking care of the many animals is a big chunk of the work (cows, horses, sheep, geese, MANY chickens, birds, pigs and probably other animals), and also other tasks like moving stuff, digging stuff, watering and looking after plants (outside, or in a greenhouse). I got to work with a lot of young people my age (between 18 and 26). The house were you live is okay, we had our own kitchen where we cooked for ourselves and sometimes we cooked together which was fun. The shower was good but sometimes the boiler for the hot water broke. That didn't affect me as it happened during a hot period. It's a very quiet place on the mornings, evenings and weekend as it
in the nature. Good to rest and calm down.

The problems of this stay is the relation with the person who is responsible for the workawayers. And the way you get your food money. First, the person who is responsible with the workawayers doesn't have empathy, thankfulness, appreciation for the work we did. I always felt like he didn't allow himself to have good relations with us. This odd distance was uncomfortable but maybe caused because of that money situation.
On most workaways where I have been, you eat with the family, cook for the others if you want. Here, there was a kitchen with all the basics, spices, pasta, oil, vinegar, rice, frozen veggies, etc. but for the restI had an amount of money every week that was given to me to buy food. Actually no, not given to me, but me, as the bold one of the group, I had to run after someone to get money for food ! I did not like to beg for this money. They are trying to get the mostwork done with the least spent and it's not the best.

Luckily some of the other employees were friendly and I had good conversations,
thank you for that. The conditions were good but sometimes awkward

I spent 3 great months in Leicester. Although at first I was not used to live in a house with so many people in it (around 6-7 people roughly) but I quickly felt at ease. Very nice dogs (Magzy, Oopsie Daisie and Fred) and very nice individuals.
