After a long and successful career as a Project Manager for the Pharmaceutical Industry working on new medicines for cancer and dementia, I took early retirement to enable me to spend time volunteering and travelling, and i have completed a Level 5 TEFL Diploma. Over the last 18months, I have been to Nepal 3 times working volunteering to assist with English at an afterschool club for disadvantaged children, and helped with remote medical screening programs.
I'm reasonably fit for 57 - I have participated in several triathlons, and love to swim, sail, cycle,and hike /trek! When inside I love to cook / learn new cuisines and I love music.
Along with my volunteering at the afterschool club, teaching my 4 nephews in Malaysia to swim has been one of the most rewarding experiences - alongside being responsible for some of the medical breakthroughs I have been involved in.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a strong science / medical background (a degree in pharmacy, and masters in Oncology and Immunology) but perhaps more relevant is my Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (2023) and a limited amount of experience both assisting and teaching in an afterschool club in Nepal. I am a native English speaker, but also speak and write French fluently. I understand a little German. Spanish and Italian, and also understand a little Malay.
I love to swim (I used to volunteer as a lifeguard as a teenager) and have taught my nephews to swim. I am a qualified Coastal Skipper (sailing boats), and I am good at orientateering (both in mountains and at sea).
I have also planned and built my own garden office (fully insulated, heated with electrics and IT system) and am as happy to work on construction projects, or equally I'm happy cooking or teaching life skills....
I am passionate about the environment and education.
Basically, i am extremely adaptable and will try anything to try to help others.
