Description

I have always been an explorer, travelled to all continents and lived on 3. I went to school in Tansania as a child where I was based because of my father's work.

After school, I worked in Guatemala for one year as an assistant teacher for a school run by an NGO. Also, the NGO received a big donation at the time to set up a hotel with a training programme for children to help them find a job in the tourist industry. So straight out of school, I was part of a small project team in charge of setting up the hotel (incl. business plan, market research). An incredible experience that also started a life long fascination for Latin America.

This fascination later motivated me to study in Chile for one year, where I lived with an incredible host family throughout the time. And of course, I used the semester breaks to travel in the region, with trips to Argentina, Bolivia and Peru.

I am here to get continue the experiences above, i.e. get to know the countries I visit from a perspective that is more authentic than you would get from a mere stay in a hostel.

I am a cyclist and use every opportunity to explore new places I visit on 2 wheels, whether on a road or mountain bike!

Also, I really enjoy any type of outdoor activity (such as canyoning and rafting) and love surfing.

I am easy going, hands on, a hard worker, open minded and speak languages (German, Englisch, Spanish). An introverted extrovert who enjoys socialising but who can also have a day in a hammock reading a book.

I absolutely don't mind getting my hands dirty. I love plants and am a self tought DIY specialist!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- I am very social so e.g. would be happy to guide tours.
- I have worked for an NGO in Guatemala for 1 year teaching in Spanish and have been living abroad for 12 years in total (Tansania, Guatemala, Chile, UK) so I am very comfortable in an intercultural environment!
- Though I have no formal qualification, I like to get my hands dirty, so all sorts of easy tasks (in particular outside) are welcome - self tought DIY specialist!
- I love plants and have lots of them at home, so I really interested to help with that (if possible).
- In general, I am a motivated and hard worker.
- I don't have any food allergies so I am easy to deal with food wise.
- Fully vaccinated.
