Hello! My name is Ollie and I am from England. After completing my degree in English I worked at a large estate in the country maintaining the grounds, and after a year of that I quit to travel around Asia.

I am an adventurous person who - having grown up in the countryside - loves the outdoors. My favourite work involves getting my hands dirty but I also love to read, write and have some experience teaching English. I also have worked in hospitality and I spent two years as a chef while I completed my degree.

I like to think that I am an easy person to get along with. I love meeting new people and sharing stories and experiences with others.

I have taught English and this is something I want to continue doing, particularly abroad as it may be a career path I wish to pursue. I also lived in south america for a year and have a intermediate level of Spanish but would love to become fluent.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a first class degree in English literature - for volunteering this has given me a good ability at teaching English. I worked outdoors at a large estate for over a year and this gave me a variety of practical skills outdoors (using small machinery, mowing, gardening s.t.c.) - it also meant that I am able to work long, sweaty hours outdoors. I also worked as a chef and have quite a bit of experience in hospitality as I have worked as a waiter and I have worked in various shops.

I love to read, this is probably my biggest hobby. I also love watching and playing tennis, but I enjoy playing all sports (even if I am bad).

A big reason why I want to do workaway is the immersion in a different culture. I lived in one town in mexico for six months and this is probably my favourite experience travelling. To stay put somewhere really allows you to see the place and the people who live there. I have loved travelling in Asia and seeing lots of destinations, but I am excited for the opportunity to stay put in one place, and really get to understand the people and the culture here.
