Hiya 👋 , my name is Nicole.
I am a half South African and Portuguese Londoner.

My passions are centred around animals and nature.
This is especially since London is a busy city environment, I tend to be more at peace when spending time with my cats and traveling to scenic destinations.

I would love to be fluent in Portuguese, so I have been making an effort to learn little by little, so that whenever I have travelled and continue to travel to Portugal, I am able to experience and immerse myself in the culture with the locals.

Therefore, Workaway seems like a great way to interact with others in new environments, which is absolutely exciting.

I have taken a leave of absence from my job in April 2023 and have been traveling to Portugal on holiday.
I would love to contribute more, therefore I believe that volunteering within my passions,
would be the perfect way to do so.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a lot of skills in the profession I was in the longest, which was hospitality.
Anywhere from serving food in restaurants to serving meals to patients in a hospital.

I believe my experience in hospitality may be useful, since it helped me work well in teams.

Also, I developed the skills to give great customer service by remaining calm in pressured and stressful environments.

In my spare time, I have developed many hobbies, which I hope may be handy while traveling.
This includes creating dishes for friends and family, through my love of cooking.

I love to go on long walks, as well as walk up hills to watch the views down below.
Along with walking a lot in my job, I believe I have the stamina to volunteer in active roles.

An expertise that may prove useful is my experience with owning a total of 3 cats in my life.
I have learnt to research what is good for them to have the biggest chances of having the best quality of life they can have.

I believe my passion for animals will help me be able to adapt and be a fast learner on how to to look after all animals not just cats.
