Hello :)

My name is Neha, and I’m from the sunny and very warm island of Singapore. After high school, I made the decision to learn German and I moved to Bonn in 2024. For one year, I learned German in an intensive language school.

During this time, I did things I never had the chance to do back home. I travelled solo for the first time, visiting many countries in Europe. I fell in love with nature, and went on countless hikes with breathtaking views. I discovered my passion for languages, and even started to learn French. My experience learning German taught me that the best way to learn a language is through immersion.

My goal for this year is to learn to speak Spanish. Through a Workaway in Spain, I aim to not only learn Spanish, but also learn a new skill. And of course, I look forward to meet new people, create amazing memories, and contribute something of value to my hosts.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am very adaptable and a quick learner. Through working in a hospital in Bonn as an intern, I learned to think and act quickly in stressful situations and still show empathy. Caring for the patients made me confident in interacting with others in a professional setting. As I had to work in German, which I started learning a year before, it was challenging at the start - I had to trust myself and push myself out of my comfort zone, but I got the hang of it after a couple of weeks. I will do my best to learn Spanish independently before the Workaway and improve it during the stay.

I am optimistic and always ready to learn and create new experiences. Moving to Germany has been tough but so rewarding. Likewise, I believe the Workaway will challenge me and teach me valuable lessons.

I speak English, Tamil, German, and basic French. I am learning Spanish currently. I have experience with customer service as I worked as a clinic receptionist in Singapore. I am also able to help with social media and content creation, both short and long form content such as posts, reels and videos.
