  • Description

Nathalie: I'm a bi-cultural (French+English), native Montréalaise/Québecois. I am a mother of a 17 year old and am an art historian and archivist by training, though I work in sexual violence training for the Women's Y and love what I do.
I have lived abroad and have traveled as a young hitchhiker through Europe and Central and South America.
I love gardening and I am a committed bread baker, knit often, and love reading and learning new things. I am active in my community and am part of a local historical society. I have also spent a good portion of my adulthood involved in community building as a member of the board for NGOs working with new arrivals to Canada, Community Gardening Initiatives, and Food Security.
I would describe myself as somewhat of an introvert, but I am very easy to get along with and do love spending time in good conversation. Hard working and very committed to whatever task is at hand.
Being out in nature, listening to a good story, drawing, painting good company is a source of joy for me. I do my best to think globally and am motivated to do good locally.
    ___
Paul: I'm also a native Montrealer. I am a musician and composer. I teach at the University level in Electroacoustics, which is in the music department. It is a field that has to do with sound and composing with it… As a result, I'm quite interested in the sound of the environment and use field recordings in my composition work.
I work in the music and entertainment/cultural sphere in addition to teaching.
I'm an engaged father and have spent a lot of years working to build a home and by extenscommunity through the development of a charitable arts organization. I've put that aside in the past few years so that I could focus more on composing, but I still have a strong interest in grassroots organizing around community building and culture.
Biking makes me happy, and I love to be outdoors. Camping, walking, being on the water are all experiences that have brought me joy.
I would describe myself as social person, but I am very self-directed and like to figure things out. One thing that I'm not really great at is lying on the couch. I like to be active – more border collie than lap dog… but I'm still pretty easy-going.
    __
Importantly, we will be traveling in 2025+26 with our son Naïm. He is 17 good-natured and generally an easy person to be around. Naïm is a budding musician and has an interest in science. He is sociable and can be around many different kinds of people.

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Paul is very skilled at building and repairing things. He can do basic plumbing, carpentry, dry wall (North American style), handy with tools in general and has not managed to remove any digits (both fingers crossed) so far.
He is also good with Mac computers and (weird sentence combination here… but) is good with kids.
He is an experienced post-secondary teacher, and if you want any music composed, he might be able to help you with that. Also happy to help around the house farm or yurt.
He is not an experienced gardener, but has been a bee keeper (10 years) and can dig a hole or put in a fence.
He is an excellent driver and will have an international license while traveling.
