Description

I am a nurse from Austria. Helping and caring for people and also animals fills me with joy and makes me happy. In volunteered from 2019-2021 at Shelter Austria, Vienna.
Seeing how the dogs develop and the joy of spending time with them, socializing them and making them feel loved are priceless moments for me.
I am reliable, responsible, competent, patient, organized, communicative, friendly and polite.
With me you will gain a team player, motivated and flexible volunteer who will integrate very well. :)
I have also volunteered in Alberta, Canada in 2018 at a wildlife and animal shelter. I love to be able to offer my help to animals and of course to people and at the same time to get to know new countries and cultures. I love to travel around the world as much as possible and always try to combine the best of everything. :)
In October and November 2021 I volunteered for Surfers for Strays in Tronones, Mexico which I really enjoyed. They are great people and really caring.
In 2022 i studied in Vancouver, BC, Canada where I graduated as Veterinary Assistant.
Furthermore, from December 2022 until November 2023 i volunteered in a dog rescue in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This was the place where I found and adopted my new companion Quito. A one year old Terrier Mix, who loves people and doggies. He is a real sweetheart, which is easy to fall in love with.
This also means that I would love to find workaways that accepts dogs.

As you can see in my profile description, I have been volunteering at an animal shelter in Austria for more than two years. My duties in the shelter are loving, caring, socializing and teaching dogs. Spending time together, gaining trust, teaching basic commands, patience and playtime, going for walks, getting familiar with a muzzle, chest harness and leash.

In 2018, I also spent two months volunteering at the Cochrane Ecological Institute (CEI) in Alberta, Canada.
The project in Alberta, Canada, was an enormous enrichment in my life and I realized that working with animals is my future. The experiences I had in this project were warm, touching, wonderful and sometimes sad.

I was able to learn a lot about growing up, feeding and caring for different wild animals (bears, moose, deer, rabbits, birds). The project had mostly wild animals that were found and then brought to us to be raised and then released back into the wild if possible. Since I was there in the spring, we had many young animals that we raised with bottles and a lot of love and time.
We also had dog and cat boarding in this project, which also allowed me to learn a lot about the handling and peculiarities of each animal. Daily tasks included walking the dogs, feeding them, cleaning their kennels, and giving time and love to each animal.
