Les activités qui nous intéressent :

We have a working-holiday visa to stay in Italy that commenced in September of 2022. We have both taken career breaks and plan to travel in Italy and Europe.

Description

We are a young couple from Adelaide, South Australia. Adelaide is a small capital city on Australia's southern coast, known for it's nature and beaches, wine, and festival season through summer.

We are in Italy for one year from September 2022 until September 2023. We chose Italy for many reasons, mostly to enjoy the food, nature, history, language and of course meet new people! We can both speak Italian and are always looking to improve by speaking with native speakers. We have found that doing workaway stays has been incredibly helpful for our Italian.

So far we have visited many places in both the north and south of Italy, and Workaway has allowed us to have many unique experiences and experience life in the countryside and city centre.

We both love travel, and between our workaway stops we have traveled to India, the UK, Slovenia, France, Germany and Austria so far. We are keen to see as much of Europe as possible, but have chosen Italy as our base until September 2023.

Matt -
I enjoy being active, being outdoors and ideally creating something. In Australia I work as a physiotherapist with experience in rehabilitation, disability, exercise and hands on therapy. Over the years I have worked in hospitals, a mexican restaurant, factories and as a laborer. I love movies of all sorts and will appreciate any recommendations of typical Italian films! I also enjoy working with wood and painting, and have been fortunate enough to paint some murals during my stays in Italy upon the request of some workaway hosts :)

Ellen
- In Adelaide I work as an occupational therapist in youth mental health. I have always been a keen traveller, and fell in love with Italy the first time I came on a school exchange many years ago. I have also been to New Zealand, parts of Asia, South America and have been to Europe a few times. I am also an active person, I enjoy running and am aiming to run a half-marathon race at some point during our year in Italy. I also enjoy reading, music, and eating good food with friends and family as much as possible.

Neither of us are smokers and we both have our COVID vaccinations.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Our workaway stays have so far have been fantastic and have given us a lot of opportunity to learn new things and immerse ourselves in something new.

We have experience in :

Farmstays
- feeding and caring for farm animals
- general maintenance of farm (cleaning chicken coop, sheds, cleaning gutters)
- fruit picking
- woodwork
- maintaining a routine with required tasks
- help with products (making salami, honey etc)
- maintenance of olive trees and vineyards
- putting up fencing for paddocks
- helping to prepare meals for families

Hospitality / Tourism;
- cleaning of guest rooms
- helping with guest check-ins
- providing tourist recommendations
- laundry
- photos of rooms and marketing
- light maintenance tasks
- speaking Italian and English with guests and supporting to translate when needed

In addition to this, Matt is a very talented artist and has been asked to work on side projects by previous hosts - such as painting a mural for a terrace at a B&B in the city centre.

We are both people who take on new roles with enthusiasm and are quite keen to always learn something new :) we are quick learners and quick to adapt to any routine.
