  • Description

Hey there! :) I'm Matheus, and I love to dive into life's adventures. Originally from the sunny vibes of Brasília, Brazil, I'm currently living in the snowy scenes of Quebec City, Canada. Growing up, my days were filled with playing outside, street games with friends, and helping on the family farm. Created a lot of lovely memories with family and friends and learned much about the importance of respecting nature and the simplicity of life.

Fast forward to 2015, I found myself navigating the cold of Quebec City. Surviving -45°C? That's a tale to tell. It taught me more than just how to layer up; it taught me how to adapt to extreme situations and the impact of outdoors activities in our daily life.

I've had the privilege of working in diverse settings, including with children, in hostels, coffee shops, and climbing gyms, each experience gave the chance of learning new skills and getting to know more people.

Two years ago, life threw me a curveball that made me rethink everything. Since then, I've been on a mission to make the most of every moment. This summer, I packed my bags for my first adventure outside the continent, backpacking for two months. It was a rollercoaster, but it was everything I'd hoped for.

When I'm not climbing or lost in a good book, you'll find me sipping coffee or sharing laughs with friends. Now, I'm excited about bringing my positive vibes, easygoing adaptability, and a bag full of diverse experiences to your project. Whether it's swapping stories, throwing around creative ideas, or just being a helpful hand, count me in. Can't wait to be part of your community and add my own touch to our shared adventure. Let's create some memories!

Plus de détails sur les langues qui m'intéressent
I've had great experiences learning new languages. I think picking up a new language opens up a bunch of new opportunities. Right now, I'm working on learning Spanish! I already know Portuguese and French, which makes it a bit easier since they both come from Latin. Plus, I taught English to my younger brother, and as he caught on quickly, we now both talk in English to help each other learn. Also, in high school, I was in a program for Enriched English Second Language. It helped me a lot with my grammar and gave me a chance to learn from friends and teach in return. I would love to continue this language journey and exchange knowledge with others—whether it's learning or teaching a new language!

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

    Language:
Originally from Brazil, Portuguese is my mother tongue. I became good in French upon moving to Quebec, and my English got better through school, watching shows, and spending time in different places. I gained confidence in English after exploring Halifax, Hawaii, and backpacking across Europe. While my Spanish is a work in progress, I can comfortably handle basic communication, making small talk, ordering food, and helping out in roles like a restaurant server or receptionist.

    Adaptability:
Navigating the challenges of immigration taught me how to be adaptable. I've been in situations where communication was tough, so I found creative ways to get what I needed. Adapting to different climates, social situations, customs, and cultures has been a big part of my journey. Traveling a lot, especially during backpacking adventures, exposed me to various people, places, and experiences, helping me grow by learning from my mistakes.

    Outdoor and Physical Skills:
I love being outside. Whether working on my uncle's farm, playing on the streets of Brazil, or doing activities like climbing, snowboarding, skating, beach volleyball, and running, I've built up physical skills useful for all sorts of tasks.

    Culinary:
Recognizing the importance of cooking during travels, I've turned it into a hobby. In the past year, I've spent time learning from my parents, making the kitchen a creative space. While I'm not a pro chef, I enjoy cooking with music and having nice chats. Past jobs as a pizza maker, sushi chef, and at McDonald's taught me how to handle stress and work under pressure.

    Social:
Socializing is a big part of my life. Whether working, doing sports, hanging out with family, or enjoying the nightlife with friends, I love making connections. Meeting new people and sharing moments—whether talking about experiences or just enjoying quiet time—is what I find really fulfilling. Every interaction helps me grow, and I believe in treating others with kindness and respect, keeping things positive in any setting. You'll often find me outside reading, climbing, or chatting at a bar. Not everyone clicks, but being polite ensures things go smoothly. Excited to connect with you!

In a nutshell, I'm a language enthusiast hailing from Brazil, picking up French in Quebec, and perfecting my English through life's adventures. Immigration taught me how to roll with the punches, finding creative solutions in tricky situations. Outdoorsy by heart, I've tackled everything from playing on Brazilian streets to snowboarding and running. Lately, I've been trying my hand at cooking, turning it into a chill hobby. Social vibes are my jam, and whether it's sharing stories or enjoying a quiet moment, I thrive on positive connections. Ready to bring this vibe to new experiences and meet folks who value making memories as much as I do!
