Description

I'm Natalia, 27 years old, currently embarked on a journey through North and South America. My profound interest in people, culture, and languages has been a constant companion on this adventure.

Born in Kazakhstan and raised in Germany, I grew up bilingually and with an increased awareness and possibly a bigger understanding than my peers of how the people, culture and language can shape who you are and what you believe. I knew I wasn’t going to stay in Germany and left to live abroad once I had finished school. First, I spend a year in France mastering the French language living in a host family as au pair before moving to the Netherlands to pursue my degree in Psychology and taking every opportunity I’d get to travel.

Although I had explored various countries within Europe whenever time allowed, it wasn't until November 2022 that I ventured beyond Europe. I made my way to Canada on a work and travel visa, initially working in Montreal for six months before embarking on a journey across the country and the mesmerizing west coast of the United States.

While both Canada and the U.S. showcased incredible landscapes, I couldn't help but notice that the pace of my travels had become a bit too brisk. It began to feel less like an immersive experience and more like a series of quick stops for photo opportunities, lacking a genuine connection with the local cultures. This was exacerbated by the vast distances and remote locations of those breathtaking views.

Faced with this realization, I decided to take a different approach as I continue my journey into South America—the next, and likely final, chapter (for now) before my return to Germany in April. My aim is to forge more meaningful connections through Workaway, allowing me to spend more time in each place, truly absorbing the culture and connecting with its people. I hope to slow down the pace of my travels, bringing a more profound and enriching experience to each destination, expanding my perspective and understanding of the world around me, and contributing meaningfully to your projects.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My practical experience and skill set include:

- (Social Media) Marketing & PR
- Copywriting (social media posts and blog posts)
- Stagehand (setting up and tearing down stages/decor installations, etc.)
- Social Coach (supporting, advising, and helping people, mostly with bureaucratic problems in Germany).

While I am more than happy to assist with anything internet-related, I am eager to engage in projects that involve physical work and/or direct interaction with people. A lot of my recent work has been conducted behind the screen and I would greatly prefer to immerse myself in a more hands-on experience, utilizing my strength and skills or engaging in face-to-face conversations.
