Description
Hello there! We're two gentle souls in our late 30s, originally from France, with a profound passion for nature, wildlife, meeting new people, and the enriching experiences that come with slow travel and volunteering.
📍After several years in Canada and an unforgettable stint in New Caledonia, we've found ourselves drawn to the diverse landscapes of Australia for a year, doing house sitting and working.
From November 2024, we're planning to head to New Zealand for a few months, eager to immerse ourselves in local communities and embrace the spirit of Workaway.
🛠With a zest for adventure and a willingness to dive into any task, we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty and are ready to help with diverse projects. Whether it's tending to gardens, houses, maintaining farms, caring for animals, tackling repairs, adding a fresh coat of paint, sprucing up spaces, taking pictures, helping with marketing, events, or social media activities, or even whipping up delicious meals — we're up for the challenge!
Whether working independently or as part of a team, we're adaptable and committed to exceeding expectations.
🌱🐋As nature advocates and passionate photographers, we're deeply invested in conservation and devote a lot of time to helping with conservation projects, striving to play our part in creating a brighter future for both people and the planet.
We’ve worked with biologists and geographers and have experience assisting with data collection, communication for non-profit organizations, off-grid energy systems, and participating in daily tasks involved with isolated community living with limited access to freshwater and power.
We've built two campervans from scratch to travel and meet people. We've also helped friends in building their own house from scratch for a few months.
Mikael is a land surveyor specializing in mountainous areas, and before that, he worked as a radio technician and electrician.
Marion is a communication coordinator dedicated to non-profit organizations. We can bring a wide range of skills to help develop businesses or causes through photography, video recording and editing, IT, social media, even graphic design.
🧔 Additionally, Mikael is an outdoor enthusiast who loves the simplicity of going barefoot. He used to own bikes and took pride in repairing them himself. He enjoys running, trail running, and hiking, and has a deep passion for nature and all living creatures. Mikael is a fast learner, with a natural curiosity that drives him to explore a wide range of interests. Lately, he's been diving into wood work and wood carving, building projects, and self-sufficiency systems.
👩 Marion is a warm, outgoing, and always smiling person who finds joy in cooking and creating amazing pâtisserie, sometimes for large events. Her nephew affectionately calls her "Tata Macarons" because her macarons are simply the best. She's skilled with her hands and excels at anything she takes on, whether it's DIY projects, permaculture, technology, arts and crafts... She loves the ocean and being close to the water. Over the years, Marion has worked for non-profit organizations, including environmental and scientific NGOs, as well as in the solidarity and social economy sectors.
🏡🐶 We’re also experienced property carers and enjoy house sitting, including looking after furry and feathery friends. Having both grown up with pets, we will treat yours with the same love and care as if they were ours.
🥐 When it comes to food, we're open-minded eaters, mostly vegetarian, and eager to share culinary delights and stories around the table.
We find genuine joy in connecting with people, relishing the opportunity to learn from diverse perspectives and cultures.
If you're seeking enthusiastic helpers who bring a blend of skills, warmth, happy to learn and a genuine love for living things, we'd be thrilled to join you and contribute to meaningful projects.
Looking forward to helping out and building new memories with you!
