Les activités qui nous intéressent :

While at home, when we are not planning our travels, we are either working or adventuring outside ! Marianne works in watersports and Zoé works at a campground in Percé, in the Gaspé peninsula.

Description

Hello! We are Marianne and Zoé. We are two 19 years old outdoor sports enthusiasts from a lake town in Québec. We met in high school through an outdoors adventure studies program. We are adventurous, and we love to travel and discover new landscapes and cultures.
After two years in cégep (Québec's college) both of us are taking a gap year to gain life experience and step out of our comfort zones before heading to university. We are both hardworking and adaptable, and we are motivated by mental and physical challenges. This is why we chose to head to Chile, where we want to do a lot of hiking, but also exploring and improving of our Spanish skills. We both give a lot of importance to low-impact ecotourism, and thus it is important to us to give back to the communities we visit.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We both have a lot of outdoors experience, as we did multiple expeditions in high school for our outdoors courses.
Zoé went to an adventure tourism specialized college for two years. When she was there, she gained experience in longer expeditions, and completed certifications including a whitewater rescuer level II course and an avalanche terrain safety course.
After graduating, Marianne guided expeditions for our high school's outdoors club.
We both worked in hospitality (at a spa) during high school, which helped us develop attention to detail, efficiency and professionalism.
Zoé went on to guide groups at summer camps, work in administration at her college's library and will soon work in customer service at a campground.
Marianne also worked in customer service in a café, and currently works in a watersports and gear renting centre.
In college, Marianne studied natural sciences with an environmental and social profile. Zoé studied social sciences, with an adventure studies program and specialization in geography, history and psychology.

In her free time, Marianne likes to crochet, read, hike, cook or practice yoga. We both love camping and know a lot about camping tips and tricks, gear and good practices. Zoé likes photography, history and architecture.
