Hoi !

I'm here on workaway seeking to connect and be inspired by people who share a passion for simple living and growing your own food. Based in the beautiful small city of Utrecht, the Netherlands, I spend my time studying cell biology, sharing time with my flatmates, cooking experimentally, reading, working in my mini vegetable garden, hiking, scouring flea markets and enjoying (live)music.

I feel grounded being and working outdoors and wish to spend more time doing so. Moreover, I love meeting people from different backgrounds and learning from each other. I am looking for a workaway destination where it is possible to immerse oneself in the daily routine of the outdoor life and sharing meals and good conversations. As I live with 9 other people, I am used to sharing space, eating together and sharing daily life experiences. This is something I very much appreciate and I hope to find hosts who like to share not only their knowledge, but also their way of life :)

I have experience with gardening: seeding to planting into open ground, weeding, natural pest control, basic compost making and maintanance of the land. Furthermore, I am experienced in hospitality, having worked in several coffee- and lunchrooms. I enjoy cooking for others and am always open to new culinary inspiration.

My plan is to go somewhere in Europe during the last weeks of august. I'm looking to learn about van transformation or other construction projects and would also like do do gardening. For whoever is reading this, don't hestitate to contact me!

I’m really eager to learn Spanish! By spending time in a community near Valencia, I have had much fun practicing it every day and I am convinced of how effective it is to just surround oneself with a language. // I have been teaching some Dutch there and I am able to teach English as well.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Experience with gardening. I have my own mini vegetable garden, took some classes in basic plant biology and plant breeding and went on workaway before to a farm.

Experience in hospitality from working as a waitress, cook and barista in several cafes.

I have worked in a medical laboratory, which taught me to follow precise protocols. I also like to think critically and ask questions about why I follow certain steps, always looking to optimize.

I cook for large groups of people daily. Also, cleaning is my go-to activity when I feel stressed haha.

I love turning trash into treasure! DIY projects and upcycling things found at flea markets.
