Description
I'm Mahdi, a passionate traveler with a love for exploring new cultures and making meaningful connections. I’ve traveled to many countries, spending several months living and adventuring across Africa, and my next big journey will take me through different parts of Europe, starting with France. Currently, I’m based in Vancouver, Canada, but my travel plans are always evolving.
In addition to my love for travel, I play the Kamancheh, a traditional Iranian instrument, and enjoy outdoor activities like mountaineering and kayaking. As a web developer with a background in media, I also have extensive experience in social media and digital networks.
Volunteering has always been an exciting part of my journey, and I’ve been involved in various projects across Africa and Asia. One of my most memorable experiences was designing and building a glass wall in a hostel in Uganda—a task I had never done before but found incredibly rewarding.
I’m always eager to learn new skills, meet new people, and embrace every opportunity to grow through diverse experiences.

We were really happy to host Mahdi (and then briefly to meet his wife). We learned a lot about Iran and Canada, we tasted delicious food and had interesting discussions on many subjects! We wish him/them all the best, many other adventures and discoveries and maybe they'll be one day a host family for our future workawayers boys!

My experience of spending two weeks with the French-Italian family, Valérie and Angelo, was incredibly enjoyable and memorable. They are a lovely and kind family. On the first day, as planned, Valérie picked me up from the train station and brought me to their home. During those two weeks, I truly felt like a part of their family.

We can say thar this place is well-orginazed, clean, comfortable and full of discipline but not bothering you. It is really great that you know your duties from first day and have a schedule for whole week and they were so flexible to arrange schedule with your willing, this made everything easy for us. when Masi was sick they were so supportive… read more

it was an incredible experience in kaş city and the camp. Can and Selgün are really nice and friendly couple. we enjoyed environment and place verymuch. there were other volunteers there and we found many new friends so it was really difficult to leave this palce after one month. every night we made fire in firecamp, and guests and friends joined… read more

Father Emmanuel is a great man with a big heart and he is so kind, like a real father for kids. we are really glad to have this chance to live with them for some time. this school with all nice kind students is one of the best places in Uganda. we learned a lot, have a great time with them, and love them all.

We had such a lovely time with Mahdi & Masoomeh.
They are great company and a hard working couple.
Masoomeh painted a beautiful design on our watertank and Mahdi worked tirelessly on a glass bottle wall which we finished together.
We would definitely recommend Mahdi & Masoomeh as WorkAwayers and are very thankful for their help.

it was so amazing to host this family from Iran mahdi and masoomeh
they love to learn and to work, they helped me in cleaning our market in the community .
we had a lot of tours in the community with them.
we also named them our traditional names NAGOBI means female & NGOBI means male name.
Happy to see you next time.
