Hey everyone! Our names are Madi and Elle, and we are currently seeing what South America has to offer! Our friendship started (and has continued to grow) due to a love for travel. Our first trip together was to Siem Reap, Cambodia, or most impactful was Greece, and our latest was an awesome road trip to Boulder, Colorado. Yes, we are from the US, but I promise we're nice:)
You can see from our "interests section" that a lot of things excite us, but what that all really boils down to is experiencing some type of connection. Whether that be a connection with people, nature, or art, we'll take it. In our free time, Madi can't get enough of spending time in the kitchen learning new recipes. She also really wants to get into filmmaking, and loves having conversations about what movies, art, and music excite people. Elle has recently loved reading anything she can get her hands on, specifically memoirs and autobiographies. She also has taken up analog photography and is planning on learning to develop and scan her own film in the near future.
Overall, Workaway is something that we are interested in because it gives us the opportunity to not only help others, but to also experience a culture firsthand. It also gives us the invaluable opportunity of connecting with people that we might not have otherwise been able to meet.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Between the two of us, we have worked a variety of customer service and manual labor jobs. These include lifeguarding, cashier, barista, office assistant, working on a packing line, wood mill, and planting a whole orchard of hazelnut trees. We are also the oldest in our families with experience not only watching our siblings, but have quite a few years of babysitting under our belt.

We just want to reiterate that learning Spanish is very important to the both of us. It is the main reason we are planning on staying in South America for a while. We live in a part of the U.S. that has an ever-growing Hispanic community. Not only is learning Spanish important for basic communication, it's a way for us to show respect to their culture.
We are in Buenos Aires at the moment, but are looking for a quieter place to visit and hopefully better connection with the people!
